The\u2064 note, which suggested a statement for then-President Donald Trump during the Capitol riots, was presented by Liz Cheney, the\u200d committee&#8217;s Vice Chair. Hutchinson had testified that\u2062 she \u200cpenned the note \u2064at the direction of Trump&#8217;s Chief of Staff, \u200cMark \u200dMeadows. However, former Trump White House staff asserted that\u200b the note was actually written by attorney Eric Herschmann.\u200c Recent investigations by Republican representatives have corroborated\u200d this \u2062claim.<\/p>\n<p>Julie Kelly, \u2064a journalist, has criticized Hutchinson&#8217;s\u200b integrity, labeling her a &#8220;pathological liar&#8221;\u200c and citing that many of her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/get-rid-of-the-honey-and-go-with-some-tabasco-shannon-bream-says-its-time-to-hold-china-accountable\/\" title=\"\u2018Get Rid Of The Honey And Go With Some Tabasco\u2019: Shannon Bream Says It\u2019s Time To Hold China Accountable\">explosive allegations<\/a> regarding the January 6 events\u200d lack substantiation. Despite\u200d Hutchinson&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">public testimony expressing disgust<\/a> towards the events of January 6, she was reported\u200c to have made light of them in private\u2063 conversations. She had even attempted to follow Trump after his presidency ended, showing \u2062a \u200bcontradictory stance towards her earlier claims.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Hutchinson is currently facing a defamation lawsuit from\u2063 Tony\u2063 Bobulinski related to statements in her memoir, which allegedly misrepresented a meeting between him and Meadows.\u2064 The ongoing scrutiny over Hutchinson&#8217;s testimony and the \u2064circumstances\u2064 surrounding it is raising questions about her credibility as a witness.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A handwriting expert hired by House Republicans investigating the since disbanded Jan. 6 Committee said the panel&rsquo;s star witness was not the author of a note she took credit for at a congressional hearing two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, journalist Julie Kelly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1848369328141254853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">published<\/a> the conclusions of a graphologist commissioned to analyze the handwriting on a note displayed by Jan. 6 Select Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney during the public appearance of former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson before the panel. The note in question included a proposed statement for then-President Donald Trump to issue as rioters descended on the U.S. Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That&rsquo;s a note that I wrote at the direction of the chief of staff on Jan. 6, likely around 3 o&rsquo;clock,&rdquo; Hutchinson <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/trump-white-house-attorney-disputes-cassidy-hutchinsons-testimony\/story?id=85898838\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> under oath at a hearing of the Select Committee in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Authorship was immediately disputed by former Trump White House staff. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021,&rdquo; a spokesperson for the former White House lawyer told ABC News at the time.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kelly, Republican investigators now probing the misconduct of Cheney&rsquo;s select panel have independently &ldquo;confirmed Herschmann&rsquo;s account.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>NEW: Cassidy Hutchinson\/Liz Cheney scandal keeps getting worse.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepLoudermilk?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RepLoudermilk<\/a> hired a handwriting expert to analyze a note Hutchinson testified under oath she had composed the afternoon of January 6.<\/p>\n<p>Cheney held up the note, which was part of a statement dictated by Mark&hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/haBdxSBwFq\">pic.twitter.com\/haBdxSBwFq<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&mdash; Julie Kelly &#127482;&#127480; (@julie_kelly2) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/julie_kelly2\/status\/1848369328141254853?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 21, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&ldquo;Cassidy Hutchinson appears to be a pathological liar and perjurer,&rdquo; Kelly stated of Cheney&rsquo;s blockbuster witness, who was promoted during the 2022 midterms because she made a series of explosive allegations surrounding the Jan. 6 riot, none of which have been substantiated.<\/p>\n<p>While Hutchinson publicly testified she was &ldquo;disgusted&rdquo; by the &ldquo;unpatriotic&rdquo; events that unfolded in the nation&rsquo;s capital on Jan. 6, 2021, the former aide for ex-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/26\/exclusive-in-private-cassidy-hutchinson-joked-about-riot-called-j6-committee-phony-praised-trump-before-changing-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said privately<\/a> afterward that she would &ldquo;rather shoot [her]self dead into the Potomac than see marine one flying around this city without 45 again.&rdquo; Hutchinson had also joked about the riot she now claims left her with emotional scars. <\/p>\n<p>Six days after she was issued a subpoena by Cheney&rsquo;s probe, Hutchinson called the select panel a &ldquo;phony committee&rdquo; engaged in &ldquo;bs.&rdquo; Hutchinson had also commiserated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/florida-state-case-demonstrates-cowardice-is-the-demise-of-higher-education\/\" title=\"Florida State Case Demonstrates: Cowardice Is The Demise Of Higher Education\">private group chat<\/a> by sharing the tweet below from another former White House colleague.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Hutchinson had even tried to follow Trump down to Florida upon the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-taking-regeneron-drug-remdesivir-therapy-for-coronavirus-diagnosis-ex-wh-doctor-explains\/\" title=\"Trump taking Regeneron drug, Remdesivir therapy for coronavirus diagnosis: ex-WH doctor explains\">president&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s exit from the White House, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/02\/cassidy-hutchinson-reportedly-worked-for-trump-nine-weeks-after-he-left-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">looking for work<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hutchinson would later go on to claim in her public testimony before the &ldquo;phony&rdquo; committee that Trump had tried to violently hijack the presidential limousine to drive himself to the Capitol on Jan. 6. When they said their goodbyes, I saw Mark hand Tony what appeared to be a folded sheet of paper or a small envelope. Mark walked toward me, staring at the ground. He was silent for several moments as we made our way back to the staff holding area.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You and I, we have seen a lot together, done a lot together,&rdquo; Mark said, his head still tilted toward the ground. I cleared my throat. &ldquo;Yes, Mark. We have.&rdquo; He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tony-bobulinski-sues-j6-show-trial-star-cassidy-hutchinson-for-defamation\/\" title=\"Tony Bobulinski sues Cassidy Hutchinson for defamation in J6 show trial\">abruptly stopped walking<\/a> and stuck his arm out to stop me. Our eyes locked.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Oh, don&rsquo;t look so frightened.&rdquo; He dropped his arm. &ldquo;I just want to thank you for working so hard. It&rsquo;s quite difficult to find someone as loyal as you.&rsquo;&rdquo;He flashed a smile, the kind of smile that doesn&rsquo;t change the shape of your eyes. He disappeared around the corner, his Secret Service agents trailing him.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hutchinson&rsquo;s claims became the subject of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/09\/26\/politics\/cassidy-hutchinson-book-trump-white-house-chaos\/index.html\">CNN<\/a> news story&nbsp;and a target line of questioning in House lawmakers&rsquo; own interview with Bobulinski.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;[Meadows] didn&rsquo;t hand me a single thing,&rdquo; Bobulinski testified under oath.<\/p>\n<p>Hutchinson, along with ousted Rep.
