as America barrels towards the Nov. 5 general election.<\/p>\n<p>And this particular surprise is likely to leave the Republican presidential candidate &mdash; former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fun-video-trump-says-ended-political-career-response-beautiful-fan-said-loves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> &mdash; grinning from ear-to-ear.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP standard bearer enjoyed some great news over the weekend, when a number of prominent election forecasts simultaneously tilted in Trump&rsquo;s favor.<\/p>\n<p>This news comes as Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-durham-probe\/\" title=\"Everything You Need To Know About The Durham Probe\">chief political rival<\/a>, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, has officially seen her highly manufactured momentum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/drunk-kamala-harris-gets-viciously-mocked-bizarre-order-crowd-detroit-rally\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stall out<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recall, thanks largely to putting her in Tupperware for as long as possible, Democrats were enjoying a surge of momentum and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-gop-leads-democrats-by-double-digits-on-economy-national-security-jobs\/\" title=\"Poll: GOP Leads Democrats by Double Digits on Economy, National Security,\u00a0Jobs\">positive polling numbers<\/a> when Vice President Harris (by hook and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nancy-pelosi-accused-straight-lying-confronted-kamala-actually-came-power\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mostly crook<\/a>) officially transplanted incumbent President Joe Biden atop the Democrats&rsquo; presidential ticket in late July.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>But then, as soon as voters actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-got-second-chance-answering-joe-biden-question-didnt-go-much-better\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">got to know<\/a> Harris, things have gradually unraveled &mdash; as these polls clearly attest to.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/interactive\/us-2024-election\/prediction-model\/president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Economist<\/a>&lsquo;s polling, Trump has taken the lead &ldquo;as polls swing away&rdquo; from Harris.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;For the first time in two months Donald Trump has taken the lead in our model, which now gives him a 54 in 100 chance of winning the election,&rdquo; The Economist reported. &ldquo;Just as national polls showed many undecided and third-party voters choosing Kamala Harris in August, some of the remaining ones &mdash; possibly Republican leaners all along &mdash; have recently lined up behind Mr Trump.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Hill, very much a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allsides.com\/news-source\/hill-media-bias\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrat-friendly<\/a> outfit, had similar findings in its own polling.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elections2024.thehill.com\/forecast\/2024\/president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The outlet<\/a> reported that Trump &ldquo;has gained a lead in polling averages in Wisconsin and Michigan, adding to his existing advantages in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina,&rdquo; making him &ldquo;a slight favorite&rdquo; to win the presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>(In keeping with its pro-Democrat tones, The Hill&rsquo;s report made sure to include plenty of warning that Harris is well within striking distance, but more on this in a bit.)<\/p>\n<p>Polling and data aggregation site <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/2024-election-forecast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">538<\/a> noted, &ldquo;[f]or the first time since 538 published our presidential election forecast for Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, Trump has taken the lead (if a very small one) over Harris.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>More so, the man who helped create 538, Nate Silver &mdash; He also noted, however, that this is still very much a toss-up of an election akin to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/attorneys-for-trailing-democrat-candidate-claim-voting-machine-count-errors\/\" title=\"Attorneys For Trailing Democrat Candidate Claim Voting Machine Count \u2018Errors\u2019\">razor-thin margin<\/a> in a hotly contested sports match-up.<\/p>\n<p>This is all undoubtedly good news for Trump (you&rsquo;d certainly rather be up by a small margin than down by a small margin just weeks before the Nov. 5 election), but both he and his supporters would be wise not to take this late lead for granted.<\/p>\n<p>As all the above polling shows, Trump&rsquo;s lead is decidedly&nbsp;<em>not&nbsp;<\/em>an insurmountable one. For as infuriating as it is, Harris&rsquo; Tupperware trick has worked on a large number of American voters &mdash; a slim lead may as well be considered a slim trail in this political climate.<\/p>\n<p>The polling lead &mdash; even one so close to the election &mdash; does not guarantee anything come election day.<\/p>\n<p>But good news is good news, and Trump will get to enjoy it after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-s-6-minute-video-showing-experience-working-fry-cook-mcdonalds-worth-watch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whirlwind<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fun-video-trump-says-ended-political-career-response-beautiful-fan-said-loves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">weekend<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-stadium-goes-wild-trump-arrives-sunday-night-football\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">excitement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Harris?
