According to \u200dcampaign finance data analyzed by The Nevada Independent, the political action committee Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom raised approximately $6.6 million last quarter to support a measure known as Question 6, which seeks to establish\u200d a &#8220;fundamental right to \u200ban abortion.&#8221; Major donations included $2 million from the Advocacy Action Fund \u200band $312,500 from the Tides Foundation, both known for supporting progressive causes.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Question 3 is gaining financial backing for introducing a top-five ranked-choice voting system, which \u2063has been criticized as &#8220;rigged-choice voting.&#8221; Support for this initiative has also \u2062come from prominent organizations, resulting in \u200c$13.9 million raised to date. Notably, there\u2062 has been no significant funding for campaigns opposing \u200bthese\u200d ballot measures,\u2063 indicating a heavily skewed financial landscape favoring \u200cprogressive changes in Nevada&#8217;s voting and abortion laws.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Left-wing dark money is being dumped into Nevada to enshrine abortion and ranked-choice voting into the state&rsquo;s constitution, according to a new report.<\/p>\n<p>The revelation was disclosed in third-quarter campaign finance data <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/millions-pour-into-groups-supporting-abortion-ranked-choice-voting-ballot-questions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> by The Nevada Independent on Friday. The analysis shows large swaths of cash being poured into organizations seeking to sway voters into passing these proposals appearing on the Silver State ballot this November.<\/p>\n<p>As my colleague Jordan Boyd previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/02\/unpopular-abortion-through-birth-could-become-legal-in-these-10-states-unless-voters-act-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, &ldquo;Abortion in Nevada is&nbsp;currently&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dpbh.nv.gov\/Programs\/MIP\/AbortionInNevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">permitted at any point in gestation<\/a>&nbsp;as long as &lsquo;the physician has reasonable cause to believe an abortion is necessary to preserve the life or health of the pregnant person.&rsquo;&rdquo; The proposal known as <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Nevada_Question_6,_Right_to_Abortion_Initiative_(2024)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Question 6<\/a>, however, seeks to enshrine unlimited unborn baby-killing in the state constitution by creating a &ldquo;fundamental right to an abortion.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvsos.gov\/SoSCandidateServices\/AnonymousAccess\/ViewCCEReport.aspx?syn=jn%252fzR19itzXi5oZQMaUCPg%253d%253d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Campaign finance data<\/a> reported by The Nevada Independent shows Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom &mdash; the political action committee <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Nevada_Question_6,_Right_to_Abortion_Initiative_(2024)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">behind<\/a> the extreme initiative &mdash; raised roughly $6.6 million last quarter in support of the measure&rsquo;s passage. The outlet disclosed how some of the group&rsquo;s biggest donations came from prominent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/left-wing-dark-money-groups-unite-to-undo-trumps-judicial-legacy\/\" title=\"Left-Wing Dark Money Groups Unite to Undo Trump\u2019s Judicial Legacy\">left-wing dark money<\/a> organizations such as Advocacy Action Fund ($2 million) and the Tides Foundation ($312,500).<\/p>\n<p>According to the nonprofit research database <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guidestar.org\/profile\/87-3941853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GuideStar<\/a>, Advocacy Action Fund &ldquo;focuses on grantmaking&rdquo; for so-called &ldquo;social welfare&rdquo; initiatives, especially those with an &ldquo;environmental&rdquo; or pro-abortion purpose. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/tides-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tides Foundation<\/a> similarly acts as a prominent donor that doles out grants to left-wing nonprofits and causes. <\/p>\n<p>The data showed Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom also received $1 million from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensocietyactionfund.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Society Action Fund<\/a>, a 501(c)(4) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/open-society-foundations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tied<\/a> to the Soros family. <\/p>\n<p>According to The Nevada Independent, &ldquo;no PACs have raised money to oppose the abortion ballot question&rdquo; this cycle. <\/p>\n<p>Even more money is being spent by left-wing groups to approve <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Nevada_Question_3,_Top-Five_Ranked-Choice_Voting_Initiative_(2024)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Question 3<\/a>, a ballot initiative that would enshrine a top-five ranked-choice voting (RCV) system into the Nevada Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Often referred to as &ldquo;rigged-choice voting&rdquo; by its critics, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/10\/31\/ranked-choice-voting-is-the-monster-under-the-bed-of-american-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RCV<\/a> is an election system in which voters rank candidates of all parties in order of preference. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of first-choice votes in the first round of voting, the last-place finisher is eliminated, and his votes are reallocated to the voter&rsquo;s second-choice candidate. This process continues until one candidate receives a majority of votes.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvsos.gov\/SoSCandidateServices\/AnonymousAccess\/ViewCCEReport.aspx?syn=rtdnH%252bfAMxqjnkdhmTzQ3A%253d%253d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nevada finance records<\/a>, the group seeking to pass Question 3 (Yes on 3) hauled in $13.9 million last quarter. The funds came from Unite America and Article IV, both of which have previously expended monies to support pro-RCV causes. For example, the groups <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/11\/report-campaign-to-repeal-alaskas-ranked-choice-voting-system-is-being-outspent-100-to-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dumped<\/a> cash into Alaska this cycle to defeat a ballot measure that would repeal the state&rsquo;s top-four RCV system.<\/p>\n<p>While Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/10\/31\/ranked-choice-voting-is-the-monster-under-the-bed-of-american-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">often<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/15\/communists-cheer-ranked-choice-voting-as-a-weapon-for-defeating-conservatives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">push<\/a>&nbsp;RCV as a way of winning traditionally Republican seats, The Nevada Independent noted how left-wing money is also being deployed to oppose Question 3&rsquo;s passage. According to the outlet, Protect Your Vote NV &mdash; the main group opposing the initiative &mdash; raised $2 million from Nevada Alliance, &ldquo;a left-leaning group that does not have to disclose its donors &hellip; but has donated millions to Democratic initiatives in Nevada.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Nevada&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/nevadacurrent.com\/2024\/10\/04\/question-3-promises-to-give-political-power-back-to-voters-through-open-primaries-ranked-choice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Republican and Democrat Parties<\/a>, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/26\/ranked-choice-voting-is-a-nightmare-and-its-on-the-ballot-in-nevada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">host<\/a> of prominent state Democrat officials, have voiced opposition to Question 3.<\/p>\n<p>In Nevada, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/can-this-groups-ballot-chasing-efforts-deliver-nv-for-the-gop\/\" title=\"Can This Group&#039;s Ballot-Chasing Efforts Deliver NV For The GOP?\">constitutional amendment proposals produced<\/a> by citizen-led signature collection campaigns <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/fact-briefs\/do-amendments-to-the-nevada-constitution-have-to-be-approved-twice-before-enactment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">require<\/a> approval from voters in two consecutive general elections to amend the state&rsquo;s founding document. <\/p>\n<p>The RCV proposal previously passed in 2022 and would alter Nevada&rsquo;s elections if passed by voters this fall.
