The FCC must act swiftly to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newly-introduced-omar-act-would-block-lawmakers-from-paying-spouses\/\" title=\"Newly Introduced \u2018OMAR Act\u2019 Would Block Lawmakers from Paying Spouses\">restore public confidence<\/a> in our news media,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The need for the Commission&rsquo;s action is strengthened by CBS&rsquo; refusal thus far to release the transcript, which it has done in similar interviews in the past,&rdquo; the complaint said.<\/p>\n<p>FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington said the FCC might review the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/harris-losing-edge-polling-guru-hands-kamala-devastating-news-election-gets-even-closer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">complaint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This complaint might come before the commission for adjudication,&rdquo; Simington said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/fcc-commissioner-explains-cbs-could-hot-water-over-controversial-60-minutes-edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t think it would be wrong at all for the Commission to reach the conclusion that this matter is something that we should look into further,&rdquo; Simington said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The commission acts on complaints about distortion, not complaints about editorial positions. And if there&rsquo;s some possibility that that&rsquo;s what took place here, then obviously we should all be upset because people go to the news in order to learn about things that they would never be able to learn about themselves,&rdquo; Simington said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In other words, going to the news is an act of extending trust.
