Patel has yet to respond to my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/miramax-sues-quentin-tarantino-over-pulp-fiction-nft-sales\/\" title=\"Miramax Sues Quentin Tarantino over &#039;Pulp Fiction&#039; NFT Sales\">email seeking comment<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Labour Party Favors<\/h2>\n<p>It&rsquo;s not technically illegal for a foreigner to participate as a volunteer in a U.S. campaign, but election law expert Hans von Spakovsky said it&rsquo;s definitely not a good look for Democrats, who have portrayed themselves as defenders against foreign influence in U.S. elections.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;From the standpoint of public relations, the Democrat Party has been the loudest complainer about &lsquo;foreign interference&rsquo; in elections, starting with their false claims about Trump and the Russian government,&rdquo; von Spakovsky, manager of the Heritage Foundation&rsquo;s Election Law Reform initiative and a former member of the Federal Election Commission, said in an email response to The Federalist. &ldquo;Yet, here they are accepting volunteers from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/china-exploits-lobbying-loophole-to-dodge-disclosure\/\" title=\"China Exploits Lobbying Loophole to Dodge Disclosure\">foreign political party<\/a>? They are obviously soliciting and accepting foreign interference.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/help-candidates-and-committees\/candidate-taking-receipts\/volunteer-activity\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1729278522848000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0xG5S1XGCZ0qxqyP80g99F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According to the FEC<\/a>, foreign nationals are prohibited from making contributions or expenditures &mdash; including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/help-candidates-and-committees\/handling-loans-debts-and-advances\/advances-individuals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">advances of personal funds<\/a> &mdash; in connection to any federal, state or local election. But &ldquo;an individual who is a&nbsp;foreign national&nbsp;may participate in campaign activities as an uncompensated volunteer.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Tom Tiffany, a Republican who represents swing state Wisconsin&rsquo;s 7th Congressional District, said he wants to know who is paying the UK leftists to help Harris&rsquo; election efforts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If Democratic organizations are paying them, they need to comply with the campaign finance laws of the United States of America,&rdquo; Tiffany told me in a phone interview Thursday evening.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Von Spakovsky said if the Labour Party is paying British volunteers&rsquo; expenses while they work for the Harris campaign or is paying them a salary or stipend covering travel expenses, &ldquo;then you do have a violation of the federal law against foreign contributions being made to, and accepted by, a campaign.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The election law expert noted an FEC enforcement action in 2016 when the leftist Australian Labor Party recruited volunteers for Sen. Bernie Sanders&rsquo; presidential campaign. No problem with that, but the party ran afoul of campaign finance law when it paid the volunteers a stipend and picked up their travel bills to the U.S.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The FEC concluded that was a violation of federal law because finding that constituted the contribution and acceptance of foreign in-kind contributions,&rdquo; von Spakovsky said. The party and the campaign each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/resources\/cms-content\/documents\/Foreign_National_Report_To_Congress.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">agreed to pay a civil penalty <\/a>of $14,500 and to stop violating the foreign national prohibition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany notes the extremely fine line foreign leftist billionaires like Hansj&ouml;rg Wyss have walked in attempting to influence U.S. elections. An <a href=\"https:\/\/americansforpublictrust.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Americans for Public Trust <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/americansforpublictrust.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/APT_1630_Ballot_Spending_Report_FINAL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> published earlier this year shows Wyss&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/berger-action-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Berger Action Fund<\/a> at that time had &ldquo;funneled $243 million into [the]&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Sixteen_Thirty_Fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sixteen Thirty Fund<\/a>.&rdquo; Nonprofit tracker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/sixteen-thirty-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">InfluenceWatch<\/a> describes the powerful group as a &ldquo;left-of-center lobbying and advocacy organization&rdquo; tied at the hip to Democrat and leftist agenda supporter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/for-profit\/arabella-advisors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arabella Advisors<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As The Federalist&rsquo;s Mark Hemingway noted in an <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/17\/how-democrat-activists-buy-elections-by-taking-over-local-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigative piece<\/a> published this week, between 1990 and 2006,&nbsp;&ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/americansforpublictrust.org\/document\/report-foreign-influence-in-u-s-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wyss gave almost $120,000 to candidates and political committees<\/a>&nbsp;despite it being illegal for foreign nationals to spend money on U.S. elections. Wyss was never punished because the statute of limitations had passed by the time the Federal Elections Commission investigated his illegal donations.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>Another &lsquo;Act of Desperation&rsquo;&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p>Great Britain&rsquo;s Labour Party this past summer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/07\/05\/g-s1-8456\/uk-labour-party-win-keir-starmer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">won a landslide victory <\/a>, its first in nearly 20 years. Self-proclaimed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/article\/2024\/may\/27\/starmer-im-a-socialist-and-progressive-who-will-always-put-country-first\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">socialist <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/07\/04\/nx-s1-5025624\/uk-election-2024-keir-starmer-profile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Keir Starmer<\/a>, who ascended to prime minister upon the election, and his party have benefitted from a hefty war chest. As the BBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cg3j131327yo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in July, the Labour Party &ldquo;declared more donations than all other parties combined during the general election campaign.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Patel, chief of Labour&rsquo;s operations, has worked closely with Starmer for the past several years, according to her LinkedIn page. John Lehal, chief operating officer for the party, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/johnlehal_a-real-privilege-to-be-in-chicago-for-the-activity-7231760106726592512-WKHx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attended<\/a> August&rsquo;s Democratic National Convention in Chicago, calling it a &ldquo;real privilege&rdquo; to be there in a LinkedIn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/johnlehal_a-real-privilege-to-be-in-chicago-for-the-activity-7231760106726592512-WKHx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post<\/a>. His promised &ldquo;highlights&rdquo; from his trip don&rsquo;t show up on his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JohnLehal\/status\/1825979713892012381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">X account<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany points out that Brits have a recent history of interfering in U.S. elections. Exhibit A: former <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/02\/14\/report-fbi-handed-over-classified-information-to-spy-christopher-steele\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UK spy Christopher Steele<\/a> and his bogus <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/05\/06\/major-report-omission-shows-mueller-either-incompetent-political-hack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Russian dossier<\/a> &mdash; paid for by Hillary Clinton&rsquo;s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee as false opposition research against her opponent, Trump.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;That was a case of election interference and [Democrats] were able to use the story all the way to the midterms in 2018,&rdquo; Tiffany said of the phony dossier.
