Here, Rufo showed how Harris lifted a paragraph for her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-fragility-author-robin-diangelos-new-book-flops-still-makes-new-york-times-best-seller-list\/\" title=\"\u2018White Fragility\u2019 Author Robin DiAngelo\u2019s New Book Flops, Still Makes New York Times\u2019 Best Seller List\">book directly<\/a> from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">In a section about a New York court program, Harris stole long passages directly from Wikipedia&mdash;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-recruiting-gop-senators-for-amnesty-deal\/\" title=\"Democrats Recruiting GOP Senators for Amnesty Deal\">long considered<\/a> an unreliable source. Rufo &#9876;&#65039; (@realchrisrufo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1845849174807625884?\">October 14, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>As the Times admitted, Harris did not put quotations around this paragraph in her book, but included a footnote with a citation to the college.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to the Times, which thinks the footnote gave appropriate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-like-reagan-credits-god-alone-saving-life-prevented-unthinkable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">credit<\/a>, that <em>is still&nbsp;<\/em>plagiarism.<\/p>\n<p>Harris tried to present the passage as her own in the form of a paraphrase while indicating to readers she took the information from the college.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, this is a direct quote, and not her words. Sounds familiar.<\/p>\n<p>Washington Post consulted Plagiarism Today publisher Jonathan Bailey, who gave an equally poor explanation Harris&rsquo;s actions.<\/p>\n<p>Bailey said of her work, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s sloppy. It&rsquo;s bad.&rdquo; But, he added, &ldquo;I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-insistence-by-democrat-politicians-and-medical-elites-empirical-evidence-does-not-conclusively-show-that-masks-reduce-the-spread-of-covid\/\" title=\"Despite Insistence by Democrat Politicians and Medical Elites, Empirical Evidence DOES NOT Conclusively Show that Masks Reduce the Spread of COVID\">don&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t think it&rsquo;s evidence of deliberate and malicious plagiarism.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He told the Post what is seen in Harris&rsquo;s book is not out of the ordinary for work from the late &rsquo;90s through the early<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-mortgage-rates-hit-highest-level-since-2000-climbing-still-expected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> 2000s<\/a>, when the internet became more common for research but software to detect plagiarism did not yet exist.<\/p>\n<p>His reasoning is totally absurd.
