I went through Andrew 1992. We&rsquo;re Floridians. FEMA&nbsp;allocated&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/3176333\/fema-hurricane-funding-shortfall-migrants-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$640 million<\/a>&nbsp;this year toward its Shelter and Services Program, which has helped immigrants find food and housing, separate from its $20 million in disaster preparedness funding.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Well because we give the money &hellip; we give it to the administration, then the administration needs to manage that money well,&rdquo; Salazar said. &ldquo;But it&rsquo;s just the Biden administration. We trust the federal government, and look what they do.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This year, Congress did not opt to add $10 billion toward natural disasters in last month&rsquo;s continuing resolution to fund the government.<\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Milton, the most recent storm to hit Florida, resulted in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3187179\/preparation-helping-recovery-after-third-florida-hurricane-in-66-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"16 deaths\">16 deaths<\/a>.
