Do you ride a bike?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kempton&rsquo;s skateboarder friend eventually showed up, and Peacock complained to the police about him as well.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These two are trying to intimidate me,&rdquo; Peacock told the dispatcher. &ldquo;This guy tried to leave; this guy came, and he&rsquo;s trying to intimidate me.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The friend, who appeared to be Kempton&rsquo;s age, stood about a car length away and simply smiled at Kempton. <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By this time, police sirens echoed in the background.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, Peacock walked up to the officer, but the officer told him to back away.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m the complaining party,&rdquo; Peacock said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Fantastic. The incident occurred on September 28 in Park City, Utah. Gary Peacock, 73, was cycling when he alleged that a Subaru came too close to him. However, the driver, 22-year-old Pierce Kempton, denied Peacock&#8217;s accusations according to KPCW. After the encounter, Peacock pursued Kempton to a nearby skate park and approached his car window while Kempton recorded the interaction for six minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The footage captured an agitated Peacock repeatedly trying to open Kempton&#8217;s car door while declaring he would call the police and prevent him from leaving. As tensions escalated with both men exchanging remarks\u2014Kempton questioning why Peacock was so upset\u2014Peacock contacted law enforcement to report what he described as aggressive behavior from Kempton.<\/p>\n<p>Peacock insisted that as a cyclist he had more rights than drivers and claimed right-of-way on his bike. When Kempton\u2019s skateboarder friend arrived at the scene, Peacock accused them of intimidation while maintaining distance from them.<\/p>\n<p>When police arrived and instructed Peacock to step back despite his insistence that he was the complainant in this situation. Reports indicated that they were near a narrow section of road where the bike lane disappeared.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, both men received infractions: Peacock for disorderly conduct with a $160 fine and Kempton for passing too closely at $130; however, after reviewing dash cam footage provided by Kempton post-citation showed it did not warrant punishment against him. He later shared that his citation was dismissed based on this evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Peacock expressed regret over losing his temper during this confrontation but noted it stemmed from previous close calls while cycling.
