The\u200b latest proposal from \u2064Boeing offered a 30% raise, a\u2064 5% increase over a previous offer, and the restoration of a\u200d performance bonus. However, \u2063the union rejected \u200cthis offer because they are demanding a 40% raise along with additional benefits such as vacation and sick leave accrual, progression, \u200dratification bonus, \u2062and a 401k match. Their strike is delaying further production and presenting a financial challenge to the company, which is already battling bad press.<\/p>\n<p>The latest offer included a 30% raise, which was 5% more than its last offer, and a restoration of its performance bonus. However, the employees are seeking a 40% raise, vacation and sick leave accrual, progression, ratification bonus, and a 401k match, so the union rejected the offer Tuesday despite Boeing&rsquo;s promise that it was their &ldquo;best and final offer.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Unfortunately, the union did not seriously consider our proposals. Instead, the union made non-negotiable demands far in excess of what can be accepted if we are to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/military-service-academies-go-woke\/\" title=\"Military Service Academies Go Woke\">remain competitive<\/a> as a business,&rdquo; Boeing Commercial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/aviation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Airplanes<\/a> CEO Stephanie Pope said in a statement. &ldquo;Given that position, further negotiations do not make sense at this point and our offer has been withdrawn.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>However the union expressed its negotiating committee &ldquo;remains ready to continue mediated or direct talks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;[Boeing] was hell-bent on standing on the non-negotiated offer that was sent directly to the media on September 23, 2024,&rdquo; the committee wrote in a statement. &ldquo;By refusing to bargain the offer sent to the media, the company made it harder to reach an agreement.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In August, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg replaced Dave Calhoun following allegations of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dakota-access-pipeline-operator-faces-93k-in-fines-transportation-department-says\/\" title=\"Dakota Access Pipeline Operator Faces K In Fines, Transportation Department Says\">safety violations<\/a>. Boeing&nbsp;was fresh from the receiving end of an audit from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/FAA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Federal Aviation Administration<\/a> in July.
