In fact, you have called him a racist and divisive,&rdquo; Whitaker said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Yet Donald Trump has the support of millions and millions of Americans. I thought you were supposed to be helping me.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, Harris answered, &ldquo;I am glad you&rsquo;re pointing these comments out that he has made, that have resulted in a response by most reasonable people to say, &lsquo;It&rsquo;s just wrong. It&rsquo;s just wrong.&rsquo;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TJys7OVH24E?si=B2SOXV6YaJjI5OWo&amp;start=643\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ah, but Whitaker didn&rsquo;t let it go, questioning, &ldquo;With so many people supporting Donald Trump &mdash; a man you have called a racist &mdash; how do you bridge that seemingly unbridgeable gap?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Harris then switched into platitudes, responding, &ldquo;I believe that the people of America want a leader who&rsquo;s not trying to divide us and demean.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I believe that the American people recognize that the true measure of the strength of a leader is not based on who you beat down, it&rsquo;s based on who you lift up,&rdquo; she added.<\/p>\n<p>During the ABC News debate, Harris brought up the Charlottesville lie, which has been debunked by multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/article\/2019\/apr\/26\/context-trumps-very-fine-people-both-sides-remarks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fact checkers<\/a>, alleging Trump called neo-Nazis &ldquo;very fine people,&rdquo; when he explicitly stated, &ldquo;They should be condemned totally.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Let&rsquo;s remember Charlottesville, where there was a mob of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/abc-news-turns-debate-into-one-sided-show-trial-against-trump\/\" title=\"ABC News Turns Debate Into One-Sided Show Trial Against Trump\">people carrying tiki torches<\/a>, spewing anti-Semitic hate, and what did the president then at the time say? There were fine people on each side,&rdquo; Harris falsely claimed about Trump&rsquo;s view on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>But the moderators let her accusation go unchecked, even as they fact-checked Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fact-check-abc-didnt-fact-check-kamala-10-harris-lies-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multiple times<\/a> during the debate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">LIE #2: Charlottesville HOAX<\/p>\n<p>Kamala Harris repeated the same LIE that Trump called Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists &ldquo;Very Fine People.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden was FACT CHECKED but Kamala Harris was NOT!? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NZiG9RmuNl\">pic.twitter.com\/NZiG9RmuNl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Brandon Tatum (@TheOfficerTatum) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheOfficerTatum\/status\/1834018878864973829?\">September 11, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Whitaker didn&rsquo;t just hold Harris to account for calling Trump racist, but also for the new spending programs she has proposed when the nation is running a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fact-check-biden-loves-claim-cut-deficit-numbers-highlight-painful-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$2 trillion<\/a> annual deficit.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The question was how are you going to pay for it?&rdquo; Whitaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-60-minutes-interviewer-forced-remind-kamala-harris-dealing-real-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked<\/a>, regarding her economic plan.<\/p>\n<p>Harris fell back on the old Democratic talking point of, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m going to make sure that the richest among us, who can afford it, pay their fair  in taxes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The top 10 percent of wage earners already pay <a href=\"https:\/\/taxfoundation.org\/data\/all\/federal\/latest-federal-income-tax-data-2024\/#:~:text=High%2DIncome%20Taxpayers%20Paid%20the%20Majority%20of%20Federal%20Income%20Taxes,of%20all%20federal%20income%20taxes.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">over 75 percent<\/a> of all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/when-politicians-call-for-fairness-theyre-usually-lying\/\" title=\"When Politicians Call For \u2018Fairness,\u2018 They\u2019re Usually Lying\">income tax revenue<\/a> taken in the by federal government, according to the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.
