They are ongoing with the lawfare against the former president, as well as, you know, trying to get him off the voting ballots and trying to silence him,&rdquo; she added. &ldquo;So yes, of course, I was always afraid what can happen, and that they [continue] with that kind of language is just &hellip; it&rsquo;s a toxic, toxic atmosphere.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While largely preferring to stay out of the limelight, Melania Trump has been more public about her support for her husband ahead of the November election.<\/p>\n<p>The former first lady has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/state-dept-deputy-spox-has-history-of-anti-cop-rhetoric\/\" title=\"State Dept. Deputy Spox Has History of Anti-Cop Rhetoric\">made similar comments<\/a> about threats against her husband in other interviews around her book, such as during an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3175474\/melania-trump-always-fears-worst-threats-husband\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"interview\">interview<\/a> with Fox News&rsquo;s&nbsp;<em>Hannity<\/em> last week.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I saw how they treated him, how the media was against him,&rdquo; she said after host Sean Hannity recalled how she predicted how her husband would be treated. &ldquo;I think they are afraid of his strength, and he was leading this country with peace through strength. So as soon he announced that he&rsquo;s running for the presidency, everything really changed. And I saw it and I said, you know, this will not be very pleasant.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So I always said to him, &lsquo;What is next?&rsquo; So it&rsquo;s, in one way, you&rsquo;re not surprised, and every event that had happened, I&rsquo;m thinking, &lsquo;What is next?
