When \u200basked if she would have made different\u2062 decisions than President Biden, \u2064Harris\u2063 indicated that she felt there\u200d was nothing she would alter,\u2062 despite her involvement\u2063 in significant decisions during that time.<\/p>\n<p>Critics argue that there are several key issues she might have considered, such as the contentious withdrawal from Afghanistan, \u2062which resulted in the deaths \u200dof \u200b13 U.S. \u2064service members. Her involvement in this decision has been noted, and her role as a \u2064vice \u2064president aiming to influence major moments has been \u200dhighlighted in various reports.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, \u200dHarris\u2019s votes on significant \u2064spending legislation that did little to \u2064alleviate \u200chigh inflation\u2014specifically the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan \u2062and \u200bthe \u200bInflation Reduction Act\u2014have come under scrutiny. Critics contend \u2062that these measures did not effectively address inflation, which has been acknowledged even by President Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,\u200c Harris has faced \u2064criticism for her handling of the\u2062 border crisis, with the administration \u2062encountering record-high illegal\u200d crossings, exacerbated by the\u200c cessation of border\u200d wall construction and the ending of the \u201cRemain in \u200cMexico\u201d policy. \u2064While she \u200chas suggested that she supports improved border security, her recent comments\u200b seem \u200dto contradict any acknowledgment of past failures.<\/p>\n<p>Public \u200bsentiment \u200breflects dissatisfaction with the Biden \u200cadministration&#8217;s record, with \u2063a significant percentage of\u200c voters expressing\u2064 a \u2063desire for change ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-rand-paul-offers-dr-rachel-levine-as-example-of-radical-agenda-riding-bidens-coattails\/\" title=\"Sen. A \u200crecent \u200dpoll indicated that 95% of registered \u2062voters\u2062 favor a candidate who would represent a shift from Biden&#8217;s policies.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>For weeks Vice President Kamala Harris has desperately tried to distance herself from the failing Biden-Harris administration, but she admitted on Tuesday that she would not have changed anything from the past four years.<\/p>\n<p>While speaking on &ldquo;The View,&rdquo; co-host Sunny Hostin asked Harris, &ldquo;If anything, would you have done something differently than President Biden during the past four years?&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of, and I&rsquo;ve been a part of &hellip; most of the decisions that have had impact,&rdquo; Harris said.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>&#8220;Would you have done something differently than President Biden during the past four years?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vice Pres. Kamala Harris explains her &#8220;shared priorities&#8221; with Joe Biden on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/TheView?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#TheView<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6B18eYll8j\">pic.twitter.com\/6B18eYll8j<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&mdash; The View (@TheView) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheView\/status\/1843673450688487566?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 8, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Just <em>one<\/em> of the things that should have come to mind for Harris is the disastrous and deadly Afghanistan withdrawal that left <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/gold-star-families-blast-biden-for-whitewashing-military-deaths-under-his-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">13 U.S. service members<\/a> dead.<\/p>\n<p>As<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/04\/25\/harris-afghanistan-biden-withdrawal-decision-484581\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> described<\/a> by Politico, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/26\/three-years-later-democrats-cant-obfuscate-kamala-harris-role-in-botched-afghanistan-withdrawal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Harris<\/a> told CNN&rsquo;s Dana Bash that &ldquo;she was the last person in the room,&rdquo; before Biden made the deadly decision. The Washington Post previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/08\/07\/kamala-harris-biden-afghanistan-withdrawal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acknowledged<\/a> that &ldquo;Harris&rsquo;s role behind the scenes in one of the most consequential and controversial episodes of Biden&rsquo;s presidency shows how she sought to position herself as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dems-cant-hide-harris-role-in-botched-afghanistan-withdrawal\/\" title=\"Dems Can&#039;t Hide Harris&#039; Role In Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal\">vice president deeply involved<\/a> in key moments.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Harris could also have said that she would have changed how she voted in 2021 and 2022 on two major Democrat-led pieces of legislation that increased federal spending while providing little relief to Americans suffering under historic rates of inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Harris cast the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/schumer-dems-will-pass-covid-relief-bill-with-or-without-gop\/\" title=\"Schumer: Dems will pass COVID relief bill with or without GOP\">tie-breaking vote<\/a> in 2021 on the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan and one year later cast a similar tie-breaking vote on the so-called &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Tie-breaking_votes_cast_by_Kamala_Harris_in_the_U.S._Senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inflation Reduction Act<\/a>.&rdquo; Biden later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2023\/08\/09\/remarks-by-president-biden-at-a-campaign-reception-albuquerque-nm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a> the Inflation Reduction Act &ldquo;has nothing to do with inflation&rdquo; and rather was the largest climate change package in the country&rsquo;s history. Economists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/economy\/inflation-is-down-but-the-inflation-reduction-act-likely-doesnt-deserve-the-credit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">later said<\/a> the Inflation Reduction Act had little to nothing to do with helping cool inflation.<\/p>\n<p>But Harris didn&rsquo;t &mdash; and doesn&rsquo;t &mdash; see anything wrong with her administration&rsquo;s reckless fiscal policy. <\/p>\n<p>Then of course Harris could also have used the opportunity to say she would&rsquo;ve handled her role as border czar differently.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mcconnell-biden-proposal-to-give-illegal-immigrants-1m-sounds-like-it-was-a-parody-created-by-gop\/\" title=\"McConnell: Biden proposal to give illegal immigrants M sounds like it was a parody created by GOP\">record-high illegal border crossings<\/a> under the Biden-Harris regime, in part stemming from the administration&rsquo;s decision to halt construction on the border wall and end the &ldquo;Remain in Mexico&rdquo; policy. Harris has recently insisted that she could fix what she broke, saying, for example, that she supports securing the border. But why then did Harris tell the audience at &ldquo;The View&rdquo; that she wouldn&rsquo;t have done anything differently from Biden?<\/p>\n<p>Because she doesn&rsquo;t actually believe in the policies she proclaims to support now &mdash; they&rsquo;re just politically expedient, and Harris doesn&rsquo;t see a problem with the past four years of her administration.<\/p>\n<p>Voters, however, do see a problem with the record of the administration that Harris wouldn&rsquo;t change a thing about. <\/p>\n<p>A September <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2024\/09\/08\/us\/politics\/times-siena-poll-toplines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poll<\/a> from The New York Times\/Siena College found a staggering 95 percent of registered voters want a candidate who represents a change from President Joe Biden. The poll, conducted between Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, asked respondents whether the next president should &ldquo;represent a major change from Joe Biden, a minor change, or no change from Joe Biden?&rdquo; Sixty-three percent of respondents said the next candidate should represent a &ldquo;major change&rdquo; while 32 percent said a &ldquo;minor change.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for Harris, 56 percent of registered voters said Harris represented &ldquo;more of the same.&rdquo; On the contrary, 61 percent of voters said former President Donald Trump represented some degree of change. Registered voters also favored Trump over Harris to handle the economy and immigration &mdash; two key issues of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>But Harris has the full weight of the propaganda press behind her &mdash; and it&rsquo;s working overtime to sever the ties between Harris and her own administration, even if Harris herself is soiling those efforts. The Washington Post&rsquo;s Senior Political Reporter Aaron Blake, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/02\/despite-wall-to-wall-media-propaganda-to-protect-kamalas-incompetence-voters-are-onto-her\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed<\/a> that Republicans are &ldquo;trying hard to tie Harris more closely to Biden on the economy, immigration and the border,&rdquo; implying that this effort somehow misconstrued reality.<\/p>\n<p>Yet Harris herself just admitted Tuesday that every decision Biden has made over the past four years is a decision she herself supports. <\/p>\n<p>If the nation had a functioning press, then Harris&rsquo; Tuesday admission would mark the moment her campaign ended. Unfortunately, Harris&rsquo; full-throated endorsement of the past four years &mdash; and her involvement in the ruin of the nation &mdash; will continue to be explained away by the corporate press even when Harris says otherwise. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Brianna Lyman is an elections correspondent at The Federalist.
