Lynn Chapman &mdash; a member of the Independent American Party &mdash; was incorrectly listed as a Democrat. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5ee8597d8b325da35adb485a451303da fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5ee8597d8b325da35adb485a451303da\"><\/div>\n<p>The mistake was not present on sample ballots, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Nevada&rsquo;s 2nd Congressional District is considered safe for Republicans this November, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/maps\/house\/2024\/toss-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RealClearPolling<\/a>. The seat has been held by GOP Rep. Mark Amodei since 2011. <\/p>\n<p>Unlike most states, Nevada requires local clerks to automatically mail individuals listed on the state&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-all-mail-balloting-made-nevadas-messy-voter-rolls-worse\/\" title=\"How All-Mail Balloting Made Nevada&#039;s Messy Voter Rolls &#039;Worse&#039;\">active voter registration list<\/a> a ballot during each election cycle, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Voting_in_Nevada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ballotpedia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When pressed on the matter by The Federalist, Carson City Clerk-Recorder Scott Hoen took responsibility for the &ldquo;honest mistake,&rdquo; saying he and his office &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-j-d-vance-wing-of-the-republican-party-is-not-a-passing-trend\/\" title=\"The J.D. Vance Wing of the Republican Party is not a passing trend\">simply didn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t catch it when [they] were proofreading&rdquo; the ballots.
