He won with just over 50% of the vote, while his campaign donations swelled by just over $1 million.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, he spent $1.3 million, ending with just $260,000 on hand. This is according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/60-minutes-edits-exchange-with-fla-gov-desantis-reporter\/\" title=\"\u201960 Minutes\u2019 edits exchange with Fla. Gov. DeSantis, reporter\">campaign finance reports<\/a> from the Federal Election Commission. According to the FEC, the financial status of Chavez&rsquo; campaign is all zeroes.<\/p>\n<p>Scott said he is motivated to serve the people in his district, which is located in the suburbs of Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I am who I am, because a lot of folks saw something in me and gave me a helping hand. I wanted to repay that debt and politics is where I can help a lot of people,&rdquo; his campaign website said.<\/p>\n<p>Chavez said that education must return to &ldquo;basic fundamentals,&rdquo; immigration and economic reforms are critical for a &ldquo;better future,&rdquo; and that Americans must be ensured &ldquo;medical autonomy&rdquo; over &ldquo;blanket mandates that could harm many Americans.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Scott boasts of over $1 billion federal dollars secured for his district. In the last week, he voted against the U.S. House Resolution condemning the Biden administration for its handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>Chavez has been endorsed by the Georgia Right to Life and the Georgia Police Benevolent Association.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the district has shifted since the last election, following statewide redistricting, Scott is still favored to win.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Scott won the election with over 80% of the vote.
