Reporting previously indicated Cuomo likely wouldn&rsquo;t run if Adams seeks reelection, but that could change if Adams decides to vacate his office or is removed.<\/p>\n<p>It hasn&rsquo;t been confirmed if the poll has been commissioned by Cuomo. <em>City and State New York<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityandstateny.com\/politics\/2024\/10\/apparent-cuomo-poll-tests-water-mayoral-gubernatorial-runs\/400052\/?oref=csny-category-lander-top-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>asked<\/a> two pollsters who believed it was him, and one said that it&rsquo;d be &ldquo;extraordinarily unlikely&rdquo; to be anyone else, given the poll&rsquo;s in-depth examination of feelings surrounding Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi to confirm if Cuomo did commission the poll but received no response.<\/p>\n<p>The poll asked several questions pertaining to Cuomo, such as whether respondents had a favorable or unfavorable view of him, what concerns them the most about what they&rsquo;re heard of him, and if the adjective &ldquo;bully&rdquo; applies to him well or not.<\/p>\n<p>The survey also pitted him against other mayoral candidates, such as Democratic state Sen. Zellnor Myrie, City Comptroller Brad Lander, and Democratic state Sen. Jessica Ramos, in asking who voters&rsquo; first choice in the election would be.<\/p>\n<p>Some questions in the poll appeared to be biased toward Cuomo as well. One question asked whether voters preferred &ldquo;someone who has a proven record of getting big things accomplished in government&rdquo; or &ldquo;someone who advocates for major progressive social change and equity.&rdquo; Cuomo, as the governor of New York for over a decade, has plenty of experience in government.<\/p>\n<p>His likely challengers in the mayoral race, namely Lander and Ramos, are known to be more progressive alternatives in the New York mayoral race, considering they&rsquo;ve both supported congestion pricing and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>One other question connected to Cuomo&rsquo;s sexual assault allegations asked whether voters would be more or less likely to vote for Cuomo because of them.
