return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump can expect to fight impeachment efforts again pending a second term this November. <\/p>\n<p>Special Counsel Jack Smith&rsquo;s 165-page report unsealed Wednesday is the Steele Dossier 2.0, an anonymously sourced manifesto compiled to warrant deep state investigations into former President Donald Trump with the ultimate aim of tossing him out of the White House.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d65caec24f0a3a42bdc51e103057bb66 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-d65caec24f0a3a42bdc51e103057bb66\"><\/div>\n<p>U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan allowed the report to be filed last week after Smith <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-jack-smith-jan-6-186c874404912578e44d5781c8267e2d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submitted<\/a> an updated indictment in response to new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cotton-grills-garland-on-racial-bias-in-higher-ed-asian-american-parents-kids-disappointed-in-your-answers\/\" title=\"Cotton Grills Garland On Racial Bias In Higher Ed: Asian-American Parents, Kids \u2018Disappointed\u2019 In Your Answers\">case law<\/a> regarding presidential immunity. The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/01\/scotus-immunity-ruling-further-delays-trump-trial-in-jack-smiths-d-c-lawfare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ruled<\/a> this summer that presidents have immunity from prosecution for official acts in office, forcing the Department of Justice to recalibrate its case against the Republican presidential nominee. Earlier this month, however, Judge Chutkan <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/09\/05\/chutkan-laughs-off-supreme-court-immunity-ruling-in-d-c-trump-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acknowledged<\/a> the case would likely go to trial well after the election, and possibly after the start of the new administration.<\/p>\n<p>The summary of the evidence of the former president&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-faces-criticism-on-both-sides-over-handling-of-politically-sensitive-matters\/\" title=\"FBI criticized for handling politically sensitive matters.\">alleged crimes related<\/a> to the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, represents Smith&rsquo;s final Hail Mary to convince Americans of Trump&rsquo;s guilt &mdash; even as voters are already turning in ballots. That is why, at a trial, the judge routinely instructs the jury that an indictment and proffers by a prosecutor are only allegations; they are not evidence, they are not subject to cross-examination, and they prove nothing. Here, by contrast, there will be no cautionary instructions. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As Election Day draws near, &ldquo;Smith&rsquo;s allegations will be used by Democrats and repeated by the media as if they are established fact, the conclusions of a searching, exacting probe by a Justice Department special counsel.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>If Trump were to win, Smith is certain to continue the deep state lawfare campaign even after the election, likely challenging any effort for the president to pardon himself. In other words, Smith&rsquo;s persistent prosecution laid out in the 165-page filing is the Democrats&rsquo; &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/07\/23\/declassified-documents-show-fbi-used-defensive-briefing-in-2016-to-spy-on-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">insurance policy<\/a>&rdquo; against another Trump presidency.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats hatched plans to impeach Trump on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/post-politics\/wp\/2017\/01\/20\/the-campaign-to-impeach-president-trump-has-begun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">day one<\/a> of his presidency, and formally conducted a second impeachment trial by the time he was out of office. There is no evidence to suggest the next four years will be any different. Only this time, Trump&rsquo;s opponents are starting with three criminal trials already underway, in D.C., Georgia, and New York (where a Manhattan jury already voted this year to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/05\/31\/guilty-trump-verdict-will-keep-good-people-from-running-for-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">convict<\/a> the former president).
