When minors are caught up in the legal system, it means their parents are caught up in the legal system, too.

But for these mothers, clearly it was the decision that had to be made.

According to the Times, LAPD Assistant Chief Blake Chow said the first woman took her 14-year-old son to the city’s Northeast police station on Sept. 26. Another woman took her 15-year-old son to the Southwest station on Friday. On Sunday, a third woman brought her 15-year-old son to the 77th Street station.

All three boys were charged with robbery.

They were released to their parents’ custody, according to KTTV.

Residents interviewed by the station praised the women.

“They did the right thing because if you don’t stop them young, they could go pretty far with it,” one woman said.

“The parents totally did the right thing by turning their kids in,” another woman told KTTV. “You’ve got to teach them young about what’s right and what’s wrong.”

Now, clearly some teaching about “what’s right and what’s wrong” hadn’t quite sunk in, because the kids were apparently part of the problem in the first place. But again, as any parent knows — and any adult who’s been a child knows — kids are going to make mistakes.

Some are worse than others. The flash-mob robberies were bad, but could have been a great deal worse.

“Witnesses have told authorities that they fear for their safety during the robberies and that some of the suspects have physically pushed them, although no injuries have been reported,” KTLA reported.

The point of parental discipline is to try to make sure that those youthful mistakes don’t turn into a lifetime of wrongdoing — living on the wrong side of the law, religion and decent human behavior.

On social media, applause for the women involved was almost universal. The parents of three teenagers, who are believed to have participated in a series of flash-mob robberies, reported their sons to the police after recognizing them in surveillance footage released by the Los Angeles Police Department. As a result, these families will now face the repercussions of their actions. According to The Los Angeles Times, three teens were arrested after their mothers took them to various police stations over four days in September. The boys had been identified on video during flash-mob robberies at 7-Eleven stores across the city during the summer months.

In a post on social media platform X, the union for LAPD officers praised this act as “a breath of fresh air and a display of parental courage.” Given today’s societal climate where some communities view cooperation with law enforcement as betrayal, these mothers’ decision to turn in their own children must have felt like an immense sacrifice. However, they clearly believed it was necessary.

The Times reports that LAPD Assistant Chief Blake Chow stated that one mother brought her 14-year-old son to Northeast police station on September 26; another took her 15-year-old son to Southwest station shortly after; and a third mother brought her 15-year-old son to 77th Street station just two days later. All three boys were charged with robbery but released into their parents’ custody.

Local residents expressed admiration for these mothers’ actions. One woman remarked that they did the right thing because failing to intervene early could lead young people down a much worse path. Another emphasized the importance of teaching children about right and wrong from an early age.

While it’s clear some lessons about morality hadn’t fully registered with these teens—who were involved in criminal activities—the reality is that all kids make mistakes; some are more serious than others. Although these flash-mob robberies were troubling incidents, they could have resulted in even greater harm.

Witnesses reported feeling unsafe during these crimes and mentioned instances where suspects physically pushed them without causing injuries, according to KTLA news reports. Parental discipline aims at preventing youthful errors from evolving into lifelong patterns of illegal behavior or moral failings.

On social media platforms, support for these mothers was widespread: many applauded them for demonstrating consequences stemming from poor choices made by youth and acknowledged their difficult yet commendable decisions as parents.

However, amidst this praise arose questions regarding other parents’ involvement: “Three out of about forty? What about everyone else?” This sentiment highlights concerns over whether other families would take similar accountability measures if faced with comparable situations—suggesting that strong family structures typically deter such delinquent behaviors within communities.

Ultimately—even amid societal unrest marked by diminished respect for law enforcement—there remain parents willing to navigate through legal challenges alongside their children for what they hope will be better futures ahead—a testament indeed to tough love

[42283,12304,41379
post-2350322","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-flash-mob","tag-robbery","tag-teen-crime
["GET
