around,&rdquo; the Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13898791\/Kamala-Harris-husband-Doug-Emhoff-accused-ex-girlfriend-slap.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Three friends of the apparent victim told the Daily Mail that Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff struck the woman named under the pseudonym &ldquo;Jane&rdquo; following a glitzy night out at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in France.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8648b54f6ff598c9d0b01bc5f4770c0b fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8648b54f6ff598c9d0b01bc5f4770c0b\"><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;The friends, who all asked not to be named for fear of retaliation by Emhoff, shared with DailyMail.com pictures of him and Jane together from 2012, and other documents and communications corroborating elements of the story,&rdquo; the Daily Mail reported. &ldquo;The shocking claims follow revelations by DailyMail.com that Emhoff cheated on his first wife and mother of his two kids around 2008, allegedly impregnating his daughter&rsquo;s nanny who also worked as her grade school teacher.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The latest allegations surrounding Emhoff&rsquo;s behavior toward women surfaced just days after MSNBC&rsquo;s Jen Psaki held up the husband of America&rsquo;s first female vice president as having &ldquo;reshaped the perception of masculinity.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not sure you planned on that,&rdquo; Psaki said, &ldquo;but you are a incredibly supportive spouse.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure nominating convention this summer, drawing coverage from <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/23\/dana-bash-admits-democrats-are-the-party-of-low-t-beta-males\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CNN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/28\/stop-sexualizing-politicians-its-creepy-and-weird\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>, who portrayed him as the alternative to Republicans&rsquo; feature of Hulk Hogan. Emhoff, said CNN&rsquo;s Dana Bash, represents the Democrats&rsquo; effort &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dana-bash-admits-democrats-are-the-low-t-party\/\" title=\"Dana Bash Admits Democrats Are The Low-T Party\">put forward male figures&#038;rdquo<\/a>; who &ldquo;can speak to men out there who might not be the testosterone-laden, gun-toting type of guy who wants to listen to Hulk Hogan.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a89483466473e78c45088a545e9ef180 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a89483466473e78c45088a545e9ef180\"><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;In addition,&rdquo; Bash said, Emhoff&rsquo;s representation of masculinity is supposed to send the message that &ldquo;it&rsquo;s okay in 2024 to be a man comfortable in his own skin who supports a woman.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Hogan&rsquo;s high-octane performance at the RNC, meanwhile, also seemed to offend New York Times writer David French, who typed out an estrogen-fueled <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/30\/hulk-hogans-manliness-is-scary-to-david-french\/\">column<\/a> about how the professional wrestler displayed a toxic form of masculinity built on &ldquo;anger&rdquo; and &ldquo;grievance.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Hulk Hogan Is Not The Only Way To Be A Man,&rdquo; French headlined the piece complaining about &ldquo;Trumpist masculinity.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>A columnist at The Washington Post went on to publicly fantasize about Emhoff&rsquo;s sexual vitality because he is supporting a woman, as if support for women were not already a fundamental feature of healthy masculinity. &ldquo;Move over, Ryan Gosling,&rdquo; wrote Post columnist Catherine Rampell, as she labeled Emhoff a &ldquo;progressive sex symbol.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-55d403dcda29985d8126dc1f365c53f6 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-55d403dcda29985d8126dc1f365c53f6\"><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;The modern female fantasy is embodied by the man who might soon become our first First Gentleman,&rdquo; Rampell explained. &ldquo;Emhoff is secure enough with his own masculinity to sometimes prioritize his wife&rsquo;s ambitions&nbsp;<em>over<\/em>&nbsp;<em>his own<\/em>.
