Vance (R-OH) \u200backnowledged that his opponent, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), faced a challenging task\u2064 in defending Vice President Kamala Harris&#8217;s \u2063policies. Vance emphasized that his goal during the debate was to engage with voters\u2062 on substantive issues and critique the\u2063 current leadership&#8217;s failures, especially regarding rising costs of living. He noted that it was difficult for Walz \u200dto defend Harris&#8217;s record due \u200bto the policy failures that have affected food, housing, and energy affordability. Vance \u2062humorously stated \u200cthat if he were\u200d in Walz&#8217;s position, \u200che would &#8220;melt into a\u2064 puddle&#8221; given the difficulty of defending Harris. Vance<\/a> (R-OH) reflected that his opponent, Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tim-walz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Tim Walz<\/a> (D-MN), was given &ldquo;a very tough job&rdquo; in defending Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Kamala Harris<\/a> at Tuesday&rsquo;s vice presidential debate.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>The running mate of former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> explained his goal for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/debates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>debate<\/a> was to discuss &ldquo;substance&rdquo; with U.S. voters and to explain how the country&rsquo;s current leadership has failed them. When asked if he believed Walz looked nervous at all, Vance said he did not notice since he was nervous himself and was focused on what his opponent was saying.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;To be fair to Tim Walz, he had a very tough job and that is to defend the policies of Kamala Harris,&rdquo; Vance said in his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/terry-mcauliffe-on-defense-after-saying-parents-shouldnt-tell-schools-what-to-teach\/\" title=\"Terry McAuliffe on Defense After Saying Parents Shouldn\u2019t Tell Schools What To Teach\">post-debate interview<\/a> on Fox News&rsquo;s <em>Hannity<\/em>. &ldquo;He does, and look, Kamala Harris has done this. Her policy failures have made food, housing, energy unaffordable. We just need a change in this country; we need to get back to the common sense leadership of Donald Trump. I&rsquo;m not surprised that Tim couldn&rsquo;t defend that record.
