Tim Walz&rsquo;s (D-MN) messaging strategy during Tuesday night&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3172870\/vice-presidential-debate-bingo-card-vance-walz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"vice-presidential debate\">vice presidential debate<\/a> used two simple words early out of the gate to draw a contrast between Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3170794\/harris-trump-brace-october-surprise-could-upend-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Kamala Harris\">Kamala Harris<\/a> and former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3173331\/pennsylvania-polling-presidential-race-dead-heat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Harris is &ldquo;steady,&rdquo; while Trump is &ldquo;fickle.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Just minutes into the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/candidate-debates-become-sticking-point-in-pennsylvanias-governor-and-senate-races\/\" title=\"Candidate Debates Become Sticking Point in Pennsylvania\u2019s Governor and Senate Races\">90-minute debate<\/a> against Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Walz touted Harris as &ldquo;steady&rdquo; at least five times to illustrate her handling of foreign policy and used some form of &ldquo;fickle&rdquo; three times to criticize what he described as Trump&rsquo;s more unpredictable personality and agenda.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;What we&rsquo;ve seen out of Vice President Harris is we&rsquo;ve seen steady leadership,&rdquo; Walz said, answering a question regarding Iran&rsquo;s missile attacks on Israel. &ldquo;We&rsquo;ve seen a calmness that is able to draw on the coalitions to bring them together, understanding that our allies matter.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>On Trump, Walz said, &ldquo;Our allies understand that Donald Trump is fickle. He will go to whoever has the most flattery or where it makes sense to him.
