This\u200b surge comes as the state, a\u2062 crucial\u2064 swing area with \u200c19 electoral votes, approaches\u200c an important election. Pennsylvania is the swing state with the most electoral votes, 19, and is seen as a must-win for either candidate.<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania Democrats saw 25,661 new voter registrations last month, while state Republicans had 24,007 new registered voters, according to state data. There were also 17,996 people who registered with &ldquo;other&rdquo; affiliations.<\/p>\n<p>Statewide, Democrats have a total registered voter advantage, with Democrats having 3.9 million registered&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-ad-reveals-mich-gov-whitmer-inadequacy-over-water-crisis-in-benton-harbor\/\" title=\"New ad reveals Mich. Gov. Whitmer inadequacy over water crisis in Benton Harbor\">voters compared<\/a> to Republicans&rsquo; approximate 3.6 million.<\/p>\n<p>This year, however, Republicans have registered more voters to their party in Pennsylvania than Democrats. From the beginning of the year through August,&nbsp;103,745 Pennsylvania voters registered with the Republican Party compared to 97,444 voters registering with the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Democrats&rsquo; new leg up in voter registration could be due to a number of factors, including renewed Democratic enthusiasm around the presidential race after&nbsp;President Joe Biden suspended his campaign in July, low-propensity voters acknowledging the election is approaching, or new residents of the state changing their registration in time for the election.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor Swift, a Pennsylvania native, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3150247\/taylor-swift-endorses-kamala-harris-childless-cat-lady\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>endorsed<\/a> Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kamala-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Kamala Harris<\/a> immediately following the second presidential debate. Over the course of the following day, more than 405,999 people visited the site <a href=\"https:\/\/vote.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>vote.gov<\/a> using the link Swift posted.
