The DOJ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-alabama-violating-federal-laws-prohibition-systematic-efforts-remove\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> the move marked a violation of the &ldquo;Quiet Period Provision&rdquo; of the National Voter Registration Act.<\/p>\n<p>A voting rights group separately sued Allen over the same decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-lee-garland-wouldnt-condemn-radical-positions-of-other-doj-nominees\/\" title=\"Mike Lee: Garland Wouldn\u2019t Condemn Radical Positions Of Other DOJ Nominees\">purge voter rolls<\/a> on Sept. 13. U.S. District Judge Anna Manasco, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, combined the DOJ and voting rights group&rsquo;s suits in an order on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ is asking Alabama to send a notice to voters removed from the rolls, informing them they&rsquo;ve been restored, can vote on Election Day, and won&rsquo;t face criminal prosecution.
