And no data should strike us as more reputable than that derived from apparent admissions against interest.<\/p>\n<p>In a clip posted to the social media platform X on Sunday, Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, the party&rsquo;s candidate for U.S. Senate in that crucial swing state, reported that her campaign&rsquo;s internal polling shows Vice President Kamala Harris &ldquo;underwater&rdquo; in Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not feeling my best right now about where we are on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ice-releases-disturbing-news-illegal-immigrant-murderers-rapists-worst-possible-time-kamala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kamala Harris<\/a> in a place like Michigan right now. Cory Booker of New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Readers, of course, may decide for themselves what to make of the comments.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, if they so wished, pessimistic souls could find evidence to support their skepticism.<\/p>\n<p>For one thing, <a href=\"https:\/\/elissaslotkin.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slotkin<\/a> once worked for the CIA, State Department and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-pennsylvania-ammo-plant-dramatically-ramps-production-meet-pentagons-ukraine-demand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pentagon<\/a>. That unholy trifecta alone should make one question the veracity of any comment she has ever made.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Axios observed that campaigns sometimes &ldquo;paint themselves as the polling underdog as a fundraising tactic.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps they do so in private. But the public admission of poor polling is nowhere near as common as Axios suggested.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, for instance, Harris&rsquo;s campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/harris-campaign-admits-kamala-losing-key-states-falling-behind-desperate--supporters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised eyebrows<\/a> with a fundraising  that highlighted poor polling results in swing states.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, it seems highly probable that Slotkin wanted to light a proverbial fire under donors. So she did that by painting a bleak picture of Harris&rsquo;s prospects in Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>That does not mean, however, that Slotkin lied. In fact, recent evidence suggests that the congresswoman has cause for concern not only over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/carson-points-out-that-every-democratic-plan-has-backfired-in-trumps-favor-as-seen-in-the-bible-2\/\" title=\"Carson points out that every Democratic plan has backfired in Trump&#039;s favor, as seen in the Bible\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-defector-emails-pipeline-to-obama-admin-seen-as-currency\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Defector Emails: &#039;Pipeline&#039; to Obama Admin Seen as &#039;Currency&#039;\">vice president<\/a>&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s chances in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/things-turn-ugly-top-michigan-democrats-gretchen-whitmer-rashida-tlaib-anti-semitism-accusations-fly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a> but also over her own.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, over the weekend, AtlasIntel released a series of swing state polls.<\/p>\n<p>One of those polls showed Slotkin trailing former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers of Michigan by nearly six points in their race for the U.S. Senate.<\/p>\n<p>On X, one liberal tried to cope by pointing out that other pollsters have Slotkin with a strong lead.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Throw @atlas_intel in the trash,&rdquo; the liberal X user wrote.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">LOL.<\/p>\n<p>AtlasIntel has Slotkin losing to &hellip; Mike Rogers.
