Romney: Costs of Biden\u2019s .9T COVID plan are \u2018shocking\u2019\">additional spending<\/a> further aligns Senate Republicans with Trump&rsquo;s focus on cracking Democrats&rsquo; blue wall once again.<\/p>\n<p>Trump lost all three states in 2020 but is polling competitively against Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans already had a favorable Senate map this year. They are likely to pick up West Virginia following the retirement of Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) and must net one more seat to guarantee a majority.<\/p>\n<p>The top contenders are Democratic-held seats in Ohio and Montana, where SLF and American Crossroads, an affiliated super PAC, have dedicated a combined $130 million so far. Trump won Ohio by 8 points in 2020 and Montana by 16.<\/p>\n<p>Entrepreneur Bernie Moreno, the Republican candidate in Ohio, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/senate\/general\/2024\/ohio\/brown-vs-moreno\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>still trails<\/a> in public polling against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) but is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/sherrod-brown-lead-over-bernie-moreno-narrows-latest-ohio-senate-poll-1950444\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>running<\/a> within the margin of error. Meanwhile, Republican Tim Sheehy has taken a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/senate\/general\/2024\/montana\/sheehy-vs-tester\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>decided lead<\/a> in recent polling against Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) in Montana.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge for Senate Republicans outside of those states is defeating Democratic incumbents who consistently outrun Harris and have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/races\/summary?cycle=2024&amp;id=MIS2&amp;spec=N\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>outraised<\/a> their GOP counterparts.
