After entering the establishment for takeout following \u200ca brief visit to an ATM for\u200d cash, he was told by\u2063 staff that his\u200b looks were scaring off\u2064 customers. Bromley, \u200dwho was\u2064 taken aback by \u2063this overt \u2064discrimination, noted that the time between\u200b his first entry and the second was\u200b only around two\u2064 minutes, questioning \u200dhow many complaints could have arisen in that short \u200dtime. He reported \u200cthe incident to \u2062the Metropolitan Police, \u2063who classified it as a hate crime in accordance with \u200bthe 2010 \u200dEqualities Act. The condition causes the benign growths to appear on nerve endings.<\/p>\n<p>In some people, like Bromley, the tumors can become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/woman-sues-dentist-allegedly-performing-32-procedures-single-day-left-disfigured\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disfiguring<\/a> and nearly impossible to hide.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/southwarknews.co.uk\/news\/community\/exclusive-man-with-disfigurement-speaks-out-after-claiming-he-was-denied-entry-from-a-restaurant-due-to-his-physical-appearance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southwark News<\/a>, in August Bromley was receiving specialized care at an area hospital and decided he wanted something other than hospital food to eat.<\/p>\n<p>Bromley was feeling better and opted for a local restaurant, but after returning to the eatery with some money he was given a shocking response from waitstaff.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I went in and saw a &lsquo;cash-only&rsquo; sign so I went to get some cash out,&rdquo; Bromley said to Southwark News.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I then went back into the restaurant to place my order and the gentleman behind the counter said &lsquo;Unfortunately there&rsquo;s been some complaints about you &ndash; the way you look, you&rsquo;re scaring the customers,&#8217;&rdquo; he relayed.<\/p>\n<p>Bromley, well aware of his looks and used to the typical responses to his condition, was left floored.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve never been treated in such an overtly discriminatory way before,&rdquo; Bromley said. &ldquo;So they asked me to leave and that was obviously very upsetting.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/saturdays-fun-fraud-facts-seven-unexplainable-results-that-reveal-democrats-didnt-even-try-to-hide-their-fraud\/\" title=\"Saturday&#039;s Fun Fraud Facts: Seven Unexplainable Results that Reveal Democrats Didn&#039;t Even Try to Hide Their Fraud\">wasn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t the only thing about the encounter didn&rsquo;t sit right with Bromley, who says the restaurant&rsquo;s claim of upset customers doesn&rsquo;t hold water.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The time that had lapsed between my first entry in the restaurant and the time when I went back after drawing the money was about two minutes,&rdquo; Bromley said. &ldquo;So I failed to understand how they thought that they could suggest that people had made complaints about me because I hadn&rsquo;t been in there long enough.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;All I wanted to do was have a meal.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Watch the full interview with Bromley below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>NOTE: Some viewers may find the following images jarring.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Man with disfigurement was told to &lsquo;leave&rsquo; a restaurant due to his physical appearance\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fANe5P2nNIE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Bromley reported the rejection to the Metropolitan Police, and officers documented it as a hate crime under he country&rsquo;s 2010 Equalities Act.
