The <em>Financial Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/1d186f62-5941-4f9e-aef1-7d93a8a696cd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>reported<\/a> earlier this week that Saudi Arabia was considering increasing production of the commodity later this year. <\/p>\n<p>However, the blast in Beirut on Friday, which Israel claimed was a &ldquo;precise strike on the Central Headquarters of the Hezbollah terror organization &mdash; that served as the epicenter of Hezbollah&rsquo;s terror,&rdquo; appeared to cause prices for oil to go back up, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-09-26\/latest-oil-market-news-and-analysis-for-sept-27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"according to\">according to<\/a> <em>Bloomberg<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Smoke rises from Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, seen from Baabda, Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. (AP Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>West Texas Intermediate saw a nearly 1% increase during Friday&rsquo;s trading but still netted a 4.1% drop for the week overall. Brent crude improved by more than a percentage point on Friday but still saw a roughly 3% drop for the week overall on the market. The rise in oil prices appears to be influenced by the uncertainty building in the Middle East due to the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Israel&rsquo;s strike on Hezbollah comes as tensions in the Middle East are reaching a pressure point, with the war in Gaza nearing a year and continued strikes being exchanged between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/3168864\/netanyahu-warns-iran-proxies-un-address\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"addressed\">addressed<\/a> the U.N.
