Kennedy Jr.<\/a>&rsquo;s attempt to reinstate his name on the New York presidential ballot. <\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>The unsigned order leaves intact a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-rejects-pennsylvania-gop-election-appeal\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Rejects Pennsylvania GOP Election Appeal\">lower court decision<\/a> that declined to put his name back on the Empire State&rsquo;s ballot ahead of the Nov. 5 election. The request was initially submitted to Justice Sonia Sotomayor and referred to the full court. Wade\u00a0\">independent presidential bid<\/a> and endorsed former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> during the summer, has been involved in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3136244\/where-rfk-jr-and-third-party-candidates-are-on-and-off-the-ballot-as-deadlines-approach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"multiple legal battles\">multiple legal battles<\/a> to remove or keep his name on ballots in various states.<\/p>\n<p>But in New York, the now-Trump-supporting environmental lawyer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3163093\/rfk-jr-supreme-court-new-york-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>wanted<\/a> his name to remain available on ballots throughout the state. His court-ordered removal from the ballot stemmed from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scotus-to-hear-appeal-over-ky-abortion-law\/\" title=\"SCOTUS to hear appeal over Ky. abortion law\">lower court rulings<\/a> that found that he falsely claimed residency in New York.<\/p>\n<p>The courts determined that the address Kennedy listed in Katonah, New York, was not his primary residence. In his appeal, Kennedy argued that he rented a room from a childhood friend and had stayed overnight once, though no lease agreement was signed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kennedy&rsquo;s legal team maintained that the residency issue was irrelevant to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/group-our-vote-matters-is-suing-facebook-dominion-mark-zuckerberg-certain-state-officials-others-for-infringing-upon-right-to-vote-assemble-and-speak-freely-you-can-jo\/\" title=\"Group \u201cOur Vote Matters\u201d Is Suing Facebook, Dominion, Mark Zuckerberg, Certain State Officials, Others for Infringing Upon Right to Vote, Assemble and Speak Freely \u2013 You Can Join Too\">presidential election process<\/a> and that the state&rsquo;s enforcement of this requirement violated his First Amendment and 14th Amendment rights. However, the Supreme Court&rsquo;s rejection ends his effort to stay on the ballot in the Empire State.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy&rsquo;s request is the third 2024 election-related case to reach the Supreme Court. Earlier, the justices allowed part of an Arizona voter registration law to proceed but blocked provisions requiring citizenship proof to vote for president or by mail.
