Ruben Gallego is showing significant advantages in both polling and fundraising over Republican Kari Lake. According to a recent Marist College poll, Gallego holds a\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/siena-poll-majority-of-new-yorkers-want-cuomo-replaced\/\" title=\"Siena Poll: Majority of New Yorkers Want Cuomo Replaced\">10-point lead<\/a> among likely voters, with 54% \u2063support compared to Lake&#8217;s 44%. In terms of fundraising, Gallego has outpaced Lake with nearly $8.2 million raised, while Lake has just over $2 million. Gallego raised $10.4 million\u2063 in the second \u200dquarter \u200calone, doubling Lake&#8217;s $4.3 million. Both candidates are vying for the \u200dseat currently held by Senator Kyrsten Sinema, \u200bwho has \u2064announced she will not seek reelection. Both are running to replace Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), who decided not to seek reelection.<\/p>\n<p>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/maristpoll.marist.edu\/latest-polls\/\">poll<\/a> from Marist College shows Gallego up by 10 points among likely Arizona voters. The poll found that 54% of respondents said they supported Gallego, and 44% said they supported Lake. In the presidential race, former President Donald Trump is polling 1 point ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;While the mainstream media continues to peddle Democrat-funded, biased polls, we&rsquo;ve aggregated data from over 20 independent polls that show a true race within just 2 points. This is well within the margin of error, exposing their so-called &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pennsylvania-voter-tells-cnn-men-in-the-swing-state-could-sink-kamala-harris-chances\/\" title=\"Pennsylvania Voter Tells CNN Men in the Swing State Could Sink Kamala Harris&#039; Chances\">polling&#038;rsquo<\/a>; as nothing more than a calculated attempt to suppress our voters,&rdquo; the Lake spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/arizona-senate-race-ruben-gallego-kari-lake-fundraising-1959900\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> <em>Newsweek <\/em>regarding the poor poll performance.<\/p>\n<p>While up in the polls, Gallego has a wide fundraising edge over Lake. Gallego currently has $8.2 million for his campaign, while Lake has just over $2 million, according to OpenSecrets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarter of 2024, Gallego raised $10.4 million, and Lake raised a little under half of that, at $4.3 million.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gallego and Lake <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2024\/08\/22\/rep-ruben-gallego-kari-lake-agree-debate-heres-when-theyll-take-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>will debate<\/a> on Oct. 9.<\/p>\n<p>Lake ran an unsuccessful campaign for governor in Arizona, losing to now-Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ). She refused to concede the election and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kjzz.org\/2024-07-12\/kari-lake-again-asks-az-supreme-court-to-overturn-2022-governors-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>recently asked<\/a> the Arizona Supreme Court to overturn the results of the 2022 gubernatorial election in her favor.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans once strongly held both of Arizona&rsquo;s Senate seats for decades, but the GOP has not won a Senate race there since 2018. President Joe Biden won the state in 2020, which was the first time Arizona voters sent a Democrat to the White House since former President Bill Clinton in 1996.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While Arizona was once a solidly Republican-leaning state, it has moved to the left since the 2016 election, with a blue wave during the 2022 election that gave Arizona a Democratic governor, attorney general, and secretary of state, as well as Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the 2016 election, Maricopa County was the most populous county in the country that voted for Trump, but it flipped blue for Biden in 2020, as did the state.
