Lisa Franchett says welds on in-service and in-construction <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-navy-chief-demoted-after-installing-unauthorized-item-on-warship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Navy<\/a> submarines and aircraft carriers were intentionally faulty.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.usni.org\/2024\/09\/26\/doj-notified-of-suspected-intentionally-faulty-welds-on-subs-aircraft-carriers-at-newport-news-shipbuilding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USNI News reported<\/a> Thursday that Newport News Shipbuilding &mdash; a Virginia based company and division of Huntington Ingalls Industries &mdash; told the Department of Justice that welds could have been made wrong intentionally.<\/p>\n<p>Newport News Shipbuilding provided a statement to USNI saying they discovered welds that &ldquo;did not meet our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shimano-recalls-760000-bike-cranksets-over-crash-hazard-following-several-injury-reports\/\" title=\"Shimano recalls 760K bike cranksets due to crash risk after injuries reported.\">high-quality standards<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The company, &ldquo;took immediate action to communicate with our customers and regulators, investigate, determine root cause, bound these matters and insert immediate corrective actions to prevent any recurrence of these issues.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( !
