According to the indictment,\u200c which was unsealed\u200d recently, the defendants allegedly carried out\u200b a broad hacking\u200c campaign from January 2020 until September 2023, targeting \u2064both Trump&#8217;s and President Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign materials. They reportedly shared\u200b the hacked content with media outlets and members of Biden&#8217;s campaign prior to his\u2064 decision to withdraw from the reelection race. The\u2064 indictment also indicates that the trio has links to the\u2064 Islamic Revolutionary Guard \u2064Corps, \u200ba designated \u200dterrorist \u2063organization in the U.S. Intelligence agencies, including \u200cthe FBI, \u200cconfirmed \u200dIran&#8217;s involvement in the hacking\u2064 incidents, which also \u2062included attempts to compromise Biden&#8217;s campaign. They allegedly sent it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-vietnam-60k-americans-dead-from-covid-19-in-first-three-weeks-of-presidency\/\" title=\"BIDEN\u2019S VIETNAM: 60K Americans Dead from COVID-19 in First Three Weeks of Presidency\">numerous media outlets<\/a> and to the campaign of Trump&rsquo;s former opponent, President Joe Biden, before Biden dropped his bid for reelection.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"scribd_iframe_embed\" title=\"Iranian hacking indictment\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/773753235\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=scroll&amp;access_key=key-QzUhLJh5IHXWhOKixtLy\" tabindex=\"0\" data-auto-height=\"true\" data-aspect-ratio=\"0.7729220222793488\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<p>The indictment comes after the FBI, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3126590\/iran-responsible-trump-campaign-hack-intel-agencies-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> in August that they could confirm Iran was responsible for the Trump campaign hack and that Iran had also targeted Biden&rsquo;s campaign.<\/p>\n<p>In a second statement, the same intelligence agencies revealed that in late June and early July, the suspects sent some of the material they hacked from the Trump campaign to people who worked for Biden&rsquo;s former campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign for the current Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, said in a statement that &ldquo;a few individuals were targeted on their personal emails with what looked like a spam or phishing attempt.&rdquo; An anonymous Harris campaign official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/09\/18\/politics\/iranian-hackers-trump-biden-campaigns\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> CNN, &ldquo;The material was not used.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The agencies said that the material the hackers sent to the Biden associates was unsolicited and that &ldquo;there is currently no information indicating those recipients replied.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The matter came to light on Aug. 10, when multiple media outlets, including <em>Politico<\/em> and the <em>New York Times<\/em>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/08\/10\/trump-campaign-hack-00173503\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;that they had recently received private Trump campaign materials from an anonymous source.<\/p>\n<p>The outlets declined to publish the documents but said they included a dossier the Trump campaign compiled as part of its research on vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D.
