Former President Donald Trump currently holds a razor-thin lead over Vice President Kamala Harris, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3164970\/trump-narrowly-leads-harris-north-carolina-aarp-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>according<\/a> to an&nbsp;AARP&nbsp;survey released on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the state&rsquo;s GOP gubernatorial nominee has become embroiled in a scandal that he has described as &ldquo;salacious tabloid lies.&rdquo; Lt. Gov.&nbsp;Mark Robinson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3165357\/mark-robinson-faces-novel-attack-parody-group-ai-satire-ads\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>is battling for his political future<\/a> as he fends off allegations that he posted lewd and racist comments on a pornography site over a decade ago.
