But, no I didn&rsquo;t [intentionally poke Clark&rsquo;s eye].<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I didn&rsquo;t know I hit her, actually.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As every basketball player who&rsquo;s ever committed a foul before has liked to claim, Carrington argued that she was trying to make a play on the ball, and that Clark&rsquo;s cornea was simply collateral damage.<\/p>\n<p>The response to Brennan&rsquo;s questioning was decidedly split.<\/p>\n<p>Some felt that Brennan crossed a line by flatly asking if Carrington intentionally maimed Clark.<\/p>\n<p>Others, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Gee_Unit123\/status\/1838636456551813143\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">simply<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/choppinfirewood\/status\/1838640711677124711\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">weren&rsquo;t<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/roberts89437278\/status\/1838660796861067344\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">buying<\/a> Carrington&rsquo;s claim that &ldquo;I didn&rsquo;t know I hit her.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That all being said, arguing with Carrington may be moot at this point, because Clark, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/usa-today-attacks-caitlin-clark-patrick-mahomes-not-political-jabs-mj-good-measure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">she often does<\/a>, took a notably high road when asked about the incident in question.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Caitlin Clark, laughing, on what she would say to people who thought Sunday&rsquo;s hit was intentional:<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It wasn&rsquo;t intentional by any means, just watch the play.
