Vaccine Misinformation.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/explosive-censorship-documents-america-first-legal-releases-complete-internal-facebook-onboarding-documents-used-to-train-cdc-employees-on-how-to-censor-the-american-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chasten-buttigieg-says-its-old-news-to-cover-petes-lengthy-paternity-leave-after-dot-concealed-it-for-a-year\/\" title=\"Chasten Buttigieg Says It\u2019s Old News To Cover Pete\u2019s Lengthy Paternity Leave After DOT Concealed It For A Year\">records made public<\/a> by the conservative nonprofit America First Legal (AFL), Facebook opened up an &ldquo;end-to-end workflow&rdquo; allowing federal bureaucrats to flag posts for censorship.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6071c951066b454b44ceb45bf7825469 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6071c951066b454b44ceb45bf7825469\"><\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;The new portal dramatically increased the efficiency of the censorship machine by allowing up to twenty links at a time to be referred for censoring,&rdquo; AFL reported. &ldquo;Each censorship request automatically generated a ticket number so that the government could track if Facebook complied with its censorship demands.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>AFL exposed the records that detail the public-private censorship campaign with the <a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/case\/21-01575-foia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">litigation<\/a> it brought against the CDC because of the agency&rsquo;s First Amendment violations of free speech. According to slides from a May 19, 2021, onboarding presentation by Facebook for employees at the CDC, workers for the tech platform introduced officials to a &ldquo;Government Reporting System.&rdquo; In this system, &ldquo;if the &lsquo;Government requests,&rsquo; then &lsquo;Facebook processes.&rsquo;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"> <span class=\"74ySF59CNI1RgcDZlqoU6QAfY\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\/8 These slides show how closely the Biden-Harris Administration&rsquo;s CDC and Big Tech coordinated to censor speech they disagreed with. The onboarding included a &ldquo;government user experience&rdquo; demo. As part of the &ldquo;End&ndash;to&ndash;end workflow,&rdquo; Facebook streamlined the process to make it&hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9vSAdcGCgo\">pic.twitter.com\/9vSAdcGCgo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; America First Legal (@America1stLegal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1838963230707995079?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 25, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/span> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The system apparently worked by allowing CDC employees to sign up and access a portal where online posts could be flagged as misinformation. Only &ldquo;government-issued or law enforcement email address[es]&rdquo; were permitted to register. Government employees were then given confirmation notices with reference numbers when requests for suppression were received.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Despite the <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Letter-to-CDC-1312022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/wenstrup-malliotakis-expose-new-york-governor-kathy-hochuls-obstruction-of-covid-19-nursing-home-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/wenstrup-issues-key-takeaways-from-interview-with-dr-francis-collins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">examples <\/a>of these &lsquo;authorities&rsquo; later being proven wrong, all it took was a government determination by the Biden-Harris administration for Facebook to begin censoring the American people&rsquo;s speech,&rdquo; AFL reported.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-15abc0d067ff3c025b994cf69b5963fd fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-15abc0d067ff3c025b994cf69b5963fd\"><\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Facebook&rsquo;s policy was to censor statements that made &ldquo;false claims about masks&rdquo; (now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cochranelibrary.com\/cdsr\/doi\/10.1002\/14651858.CD006207.pub6\/full\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shown <\/a>to have been nearly useless), which discouraged &ldquo;social distancing&rdquo; (now known to have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/health\/2024\/06\/02\/six-foot-rule-covid-no-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fabricated <\/a>by Dr. Anthony Fauci). If an individual was a &ldquo;repeat offender&rdquo; of the government&rsquo;s ever-shifting determinations on &ldquo;misinformation,&rdquo; their account&rsquo;s reach would be reduced or removed from their site altogether.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The documents reveal new details about Facebook&rsquo;s direct collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-big-here-we-go-pentagon-halts-biden-transition-defense-briefings-biden-team-unaware-of-directive\/\" title=\"BREAKING BIG: Here We Go \u2014 Pentagon Halts Biden Transition Defense Briefings \u2014 Biden Team Unaware of Directive\">administration officials<\/a> a month after the company&rsquo;s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, admitted the arrangement was inappropriate. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-carlson-if-youre-looking-for-election-rigging-look-no-further-than-media-treatment-of-hunter-biden-saga\/\" title=\"FNC&#039;s Carlson: &#039;If You&#039;re Looking for Election Rigging, Look No Further&#039; Than Media Treatment of Hunter Biden Saga\">senior officials<\/a> from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn&rsquo;t agree,&rdquo; Zuckerberg <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/27\/zuckerberg-admits-facebook-helped-feds-on-covid-censorship-election-interference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in a letter to the House Judiciary Committee. &ldquo;Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement in the wake of this pressure.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Facebook did not immediately respond to The Federalist&rsquo;s inquiry into whether the portal was still up and running with the CDC, &ldquo;or any other federal agency.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These documents show &mdash; definitively &mdash; the architecture behind the systems that political appointees and governmental bureaucrats used to unconstitutionally censor the free speech of Americans online,&rdquo; said Gene Hamilton, the executive director of AFL in a Wednesday press release. &ldquo;The right to speak &mdash; to even question authority &mdash; is so fundamental to our national identity, yet in the name of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oregon-governor-encourages-people-to-call-police-on-neighbors-violating-covid-orders\/\" title=\"Oregon Governor Encourages People To Call Police On Neighbors Violating COVID Orders\">public health crisis<\/a>, Biden Administration officials worked with major companies to silence dissent.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-90f7c69311ecb6142d27bee255f1b11a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-90f7c69311ecb6142d27bee255f1b11a\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7827fe757fafd3b4af7c8f0b3317a435 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7827fe757fafd3b4af7c8f0b3317a435\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Tristan Justice is the western correspondent for The Federalist and the author of Social Justice Redux, a conservative newsletter on culture, health, and wellness.
