Kennedy Jr.’s candidacy. Krug, who⁤ chairs the Assembly’s elections committee, expressed concern over the rigidity of the current laws that make it challenging ‌for candidates to ⁢withdraw from the ballot. He highlighted‍ that enforcing a candidate’s presence ⁢on the ballot, despite ⁤their withdrawal (as in Kennedy’s case), is counterproductive. Kennedy has raised legal objections, claiming⁤ that Wisconsin’s rules create inconsistencies in the ⁣timelines for independent candidates compared to those for Republicans‌ and Democrats. Although‍ a Dane County judge dismissed Kennedy’s claims, the Wisconsin Supreme Court is still reviewing the matter. ⁢Krug⁢ acknowledges Kennedy’s valid⁤ points and emphasizes the need for ‌a‍ fairer ⁢and more accommodating electoral process.

Wisconsin lawmaker eyes changing ballot access law after RFK ballot issue

(The Center Square) – A Republican lawmaker in Wisconsin want to avoid another fight to get off the ballot.

State Rep.
