the topper of the Democratic presidential ticket come November &mdash; this is just an overdue consideration.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/09\/23\/politics\/harris-campaign-possible-southern-border-trip\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>, Team Harris is considering having the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-defector-emails-pipeline-to-obama-admin-seen-as-currency\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Defector Emails: &#039;Pipeline&#039; to Obama Admin Seen as &#039;Currency&#039;\">vice president<\/a>, finally, visit the U.S.-Mexico border when her campaign rolls through Arizona on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for this newfound desire to visit?<\/p>\n<p>Harris&rsquo; \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has been hammering both Harris and incumbent President Joe Biden on the issue of the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Some Harris campaign officials remain concerned about the gap in polling, which shows Trump holding a lead on the issue,&rdquo; CNN added.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet did note that Harris&rsquo; campaign also believed that a visit to the border, alongside the prerequisite optics, could be a big aid in assuaging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-leaves-taxpayers-massive-bill-crisis-border-gets-even-worse-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">those concerns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This proposed visit to the border &mdash; which is not confirmed, per CNN &mdash; would come less than two months before election day in what is rapidly shaping up to be a highly competitive presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>While much of the aggregate polling has largely swung in Harris&rsquo; favor (ever so slightly) following Biden declining to seek re-election in July, there are still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-blocks-bidens-voting-agenda-bipartisan-majority-preserves-filibuster\/\" title=\"Senate Blocks Biden\u2019s Voting Agenda, Bipartisan Majority Preserves Filibuster\">numerous issues plaguing<\/a> the VP, with illegal immigration being chief among them.<\/p>\n<p>And that&rsquo;s because, despite her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/outlet-edits-article-protect-kamala-harris-claims-never-bidens-border-czar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">best efforts<\/a> to distance herself from it, Harris was effectively tabbed to be Biden&rsquo;s &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/going-explain-one-resurfaced-video-shows-kamala-appointed-border-czar-goes-viral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">border czar<\/a>,&rdquo; which is a role that may not exist in title but definitely exists in function.<\/p>\n<p>Because of that connection, Harris is having a demonstrably harder time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-kamalas-husband-blames-biden-says-bears-no-responsibility-joes-failures-major-betrayal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">separating herself<\/a> from this part of Biden&rsquo;s failures, compared to some of her boss&rsquo; other shortcomings.<\/p>\n<p>And Trump knows this.<\/p>\n<p>Of the many fronts that the former president has attacked Harris on, his efforts to decry Harris&rsquo; border policies (or lack thereof) have been one of his stronger points of attack.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Trump&rsquo;s needling of the issue has forced Harris to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-campaign-confirms-massive-border-flip-flop-team-trump-points-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flip-flop<\/a> on issues pertaining to the border, which has only helped the former president in his re-election bid.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the glaring issue of illegal immigration, especially in regards to the southern border, Harris is enjoying a 2.2 point lead over Trump in Real Clear Politics&rsquo;
