However, recent polling indicates that Harris may have gained a slight advantage, particularly in Pennsylvania—a key battleground state—where she is reportedly leading Trump according to a New York Times-Philadelphia Inquirer-Siena College poll. Various national polls show the candidates either tied or with Harris slightly ahead by a few points.

The debate held on September 10 could be the only one between them this election cycle, as Trump has indicated he will not participate in further debates after facing an alleged second assassination attempt at his Florida golf club. With early voting commencing in several states this week, the Washington Examiner has reassessed which battlegrounds pose the greatest challenge for Harris.

1. **Pennsylvania**: Previously ranked as her toughest state to win, recent polls still show it as challenging despite her lead of 50% to 46% over Trump according to The New York Times. Other polls indicate a tight race with some showing them nearly tied within the margin of error.

2. **Georgia**: This state has moved up two spots in difficulty since last assessed due to Trump’s continued lead over Harris—48% to 46%. During her campaign rally in Atlanta, she emphasized issues surrounding “Trump abortion bans” and their impact on women’s health.

3. **Arizona**: Polling consistently shows Trump ahead here as well; however, Democrats believe that Harris might perform better than Biden would have if he were still running. Current averages show Trump leading by just under two points.

4. **North Carolina**: Once considered very difficult for Democrats due to its history of voting Republican since Obama’s first term, new controversies surrounding Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson could shift dynamics here as Democrats aim to capitalize on these issues through targeted ads linking him with Trump.

5. **Nevada**: Polling remains stable for both candidates with only minor fluctuations noted since previous assessments; currently showing a slight edge for Harris by just 0.2%.

6 & 7. **Wisconsin and Michigan**: Among these critical “blue wall” states needed for victory, Michigan shows stronger support for Harris compared to Wisconsin where she leads by just one point while maintaining active campaigning efforts across both states.

Overall, while there are signs of momentum favoring Kamala Harris post-debate—especially in Pennsylvania—the electoral landscape remains unpredictable across these pivotal battlegrounds

[538
32626,34059,4021,32115,3634
post-2344185","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-washington-examiner","tag-debate-analysis","tag-election-2024","tag-harris","tag-swing-states","tag-trump
["GET
