The state has now begun reprinting ballots ballots without Kennedy’s name on them. North Carolina won’t commence in-person voting until Oct. 17.

During the 2020 presidential election, 3,629,461 North Carolinians voted early while over a million cast a mail-in absentee ballot, according to the state’s election data. election were submitted in September as early voting commenced. Voters across states like North Carolina and Pennsylvania are starting to choose their preferred candidates, including former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, for various positions of power. This month, five states will kick off in-person early voting, with several battleground states following suit in October. Here’s a comprehensive overview of early voting and crucial election dates coming up.

**Early Voting Overview**

North Carolina was expected to be the first state to initiate early absentee ballot voting but faced delays due to a legal challenge from Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign regarding his name on the ballot. The state has now started reprinting ballots without his name and will begin in-person voting on October 17. In the 2020 presidential election, over 3.6 million North Carolinians voted early or via mail-in ballots; Trump won the state by just over one percentage point that year.

In Pennsylvania, some counties may start mailing out mail-in ballots as soon as September 30, while others could send them out by October 8 at the latest; all counties must begin mailing by October 22. Trump won Pennsylvania in 2016 but lost it to President Biden four years later.

Additionally, voters can cast their votes ahead of Election Day in Minnesota (starting September 20), Virginia (September 20), Vermont (September 21), and Illinois (September 26). Voting activity is set to increase nationwide come October: Georgia will start sending absentee ballots on October 7; many battleground states will commence in-person early voting throughout that month.

States like North Carolina (October 17), Wisconsin (October 22), Michigan (October 26), Nevada (absentee ballots sent on October16 with early voting starting three days later), Arizona (both mail-in and in-person beginning October9) along with Texas (October21) and Maryland(October24) are also gearing up for this process.

Since the last presidential election cycle during COVID-19 when nearly70% of voters opted for either mail-in or early votes—up from about40%in2016—early voting has gained significant traction among American voters.

**Important Election Dates**

Trump faced off against Harris during their first debate on ABC News on September10 while a vice-presidential debate between Governor Tim Walz(D-MN)and Senator J.D.Vance(R-OH)is scheduled forOctober1on CBS.September18 marks Trump’s sentencing date relatedtohis New York hush money case after being found guilty earlier this year; he has requested that sentencing occur post-2024 elections.

**Voter Registration Deadlines**

Most states allow voter registration until mid-October.Some places like Californiaand Maryland offer same-day registration at polling locations.North Dakota stands out as it does not require voter registration at all—residents simply need valid ID when they vote.Check your voter registration status through vote.org.Here’s a summary of deadlines across all50states:

– **Alabama:** By Monday, Oct.21
– **Alaska:** Postmarked by Sunday, Oct.6
– **Arizona:** By Monday ,Oct .7
… [continues listing each state’s deadlines]

This guide provides essential information about how you can participate effectively leading up to November’s elections!

[20117,33731,41100,4351,4086
post-2342602","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-deadlines","tag-election-day","tag-how-to-vote","tag-voting","tag-washington
["GET
