With this discovery, we have decided to permanently discontinue liverwurst.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&ldquo;In response to the inspection records and noncompliance reports at the Jarratt plant, we will not make excuses,&rdquo; the company wrote.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&ldquo;Given the seriousness of the outbreak, and the fact that it originated at Jarratt, we have made the difficult decision to indefinitely close this location, which has not been operational since late July 2024,&rdquo; the company added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2024\/09\/16\/boars-head-deli-meat-listeria-timeline\/75253009007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a>, the company is facing multiple lawsuits over the contamination of liverwurst.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The USDA has excoriated conditions at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-boars-head-closing-virginia-plant-linked-deadly-listeria-outbreak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plant<\/a>&nbsp;where the contaminated food was made.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/boarshead.com\/pdf\/Boars-Head-NOS-July-2024_view.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one instance<\/a>, the USDA wrote that &ldquo;clear liquid was observed falling from a square patch in the ceiling. Ten feet from the patches, a black fan was mounted to the ceiling and was blowing the leaking clear liquid into the Blast Cell Hallway, where 9 trees of uncovered Assorted Hams were stored. These 9 trees were retained by inspection personnel.
