They also cited judicial error and a miscalculation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/proud-boys-leader-ethan-nordean-handed-record-18-year-prison-term-for-jan-6-attack\/\" title=\"Ethan Nordean, Proud Boys leader, gets historic 18-year sentence for Jan. 6 assault.\">federal sentencing guidelines range<\/a> as reason to reject her conviction and sentence.<\/p>\n<p>But the ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-mexican-drug-cartel-leader-transferred-new-york\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York<\/a> said Epstein&rsquo;s non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in Florida did not bar federal prosecutors in New York from bringing a case. They also found that Maxwell&rsquo;s indictment was within the statute of limitations.<\/p>\n<p>Maxwell, 62, was found guilty in December 2021 of luring young girls to Epstein so he could molest them, between 1994 and 2004. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Epstein sexually abused children hundreds of times over more than a decade, exploiting vulnerable girls as young as 14.
