And the reason I feel blessed, Sean, is that I got to see what it&rsquo;s like for my dear friend to live his normal life. I think maybe it has something to do with just by osmosis, just being around my friend. He&rsquo;s so courageous you feel inspired that you want to demonstrate a little bit of that yourself, if you can,&rdquo; Witkoff said.<\/p>\n<p>The New York businessman recounted that the reaction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-declares-secret-service-needs-help-second-assassination-attempt-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Secret Service<\/a> was something to behold.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Secret Service were exceptional. They had the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/stefanik-challenger-once-registered-as-a-foreign-agent-for-embassy-of-qatar\/\" title=\"Stefanik Challenger Once Registered As A Foreign Agent For \u2018Embassy Of Qatar\u2019\">president secured<\/a>, in my estimation, because I was five yards away from him, in my estimation, maybe after the first shot, certainly after the second shot. So, by the time the fourth shot rang out, the president was on his way with that detail,&rdquo; he explained.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was as if they had practiced it 500 times before. It was pretty awesome to watch them. And they were heroic because their lives were on the line,&rdquo; Witkoff said.<\/p>\n<p>Two Secret Service snipers deployed right next to him and aimed at the tree line where the shooter was.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr. said Monday that Routh &ldquo;did not have a line of sight to the former president&rdquo; and did not fire at Secret Service agents before he fled the scene, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/live\/trump-shooting-west-palm-beach-updates#00000191-fc86-dc18-a79f-fcbe83a20000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/live\/trump-shooting-west-palm-beach-updates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> on a lighter note after the incident, &ldquo;I would have loved to have sank that last putt&rdquo; and finished the round.<\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s the sort of aplomb and courage one wants to see in a commander in chief of the military.<\/p>\n<p>Two of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/magazine\/story\/2016\/12\/trump-general-patton-admiration-214545\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heroes<\/a>, World War II Gens. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/75-years-ago-macarthur-fulfilled-famous-pledge-made-triumphant-wwii-return-philippines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Douglas MacArthur<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gen-pattons-army-born-80-years-ago-leads-allied-break-normandy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George S.
