All of those cases were disposed of with parole or probation.<\/p>\n<p>All told, NBC reported, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-democrats-get-trump-crusade-will-end-in-disappointment-not-delight\/\" title=\"Democrats&#039; anti-Trump campaign will result in disappointment, not satisfaction.\">100 criminal counts<\/a> were filed against Routh over the years in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>The neighbor told WGHP she last saw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/devastating-litterbugs-ugly-move-world-changing-effect-carlsbad-caverns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Routh<\/a> in May when he left the state for Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He told me it was the last day he was here and he hugged me goodbye, and, yeah, he actually hugged me,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I thought he was just living the life&nbsp;in Hawaii with the girlfriend and all, so for him to be assassinating the president, that&rsquo;s just crazy,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Palm Beach County State&rsquo;s Attorney Dave Aronberg said officials believe Routh was &ldquo;lying in wait&rdquo; for Trump and said it is believed that Routh aimed at the Secret Service agent who shot at him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/09\/15\/us\/politics\/trump-shooting-suspect-routh.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> noted that in 2023, it spoke with Routh in connection with Americans volunteering to fight in Ukraine.
