Instead,\u2063 Harris and the moderators dwelled \u2063on past events, specifically the January\u200c 6 Capitol events, and failed to\u2063 scrutinize the potential influence of anti-Trump rhetoric on escalating violence against him. Critics pointed out a perceived bias in the questioning, highlighting that while Trump was asked if he regretted his\u2064 actions \u200con January 6, there was no inquiry for Harris about her incendiary statements \u2064or \u200bthe Biden administration&#8217;s tactics against Trump. The\u2064 debate touched on\u2062 various\u200c topics,\u2063 such as reproductive rights and\u200d international conflict, yet many felt that the failure to \u200cadequately address the assassination attempt \u2062signified \u2062a significant\u2063 oversight in\u200c the discourse. Ultimately, Trump&#8217;s remarks regarding \u2064the assassination attempt were swiftly redirected, suggesting an unwillingness from \u200dmoderators\u2064 to engage with\u2064 controversial\u2064 subjects\u200c pertinent to the elections.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Nobody was surprised Tuesday night when the first &mdash; and likely only &mdash; 2024 presidential debate featured Donald Trump vs. Kamala Harris, David Muir, and Linsey Davis. Yet the level of corruption never ceases to amaze, this time in the form of Kamala&rsquo;s ABC cronies neglecting to bring up the recent attempted murder of their political foe that occurred not two months ago.<\/p>\n<p>You&rsquo;d never know that the former and likely future president was shot in the head 59 days ago. And that it was at the hands of a crazed gunman who was allowed to scale the roof of a building near where President Trump was speaking even after bystanders saw him. And that the building was suspiciously left out of the security perimeter even though it was identified as a potential threat. And that snipers were supposedly told not to secure the roof of the building because the nearly flat roof was kind of &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/16\/secret-service-director-we-didnt-put-snipers-on-the-roof-because-it-was-kind-of-sloped\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sloped<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>And that Democrats&rsquo; &ldquo;Trump is Hitler&rdquo; language might have had something to do with it. <\/p>\n<p>No, Muir and Davis instead asked questions about a three-and-a-half-year-old (mostly peaceful) demonstration because that&rsquo;s what Kamala Harris would rather talk about. Why would moderators generate discussion about Democrats inciting a would-be assassin when they can just keep recycling the fiction that Trump incited a violent mob in 2021? Here&rsquo;s how Muir <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kRh6598RmHM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">framed<\/a> the ridiculous question: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I want to talk about the peaceful transfer of power, which of course we all know is a cornerstone of our democracy, and the role of a president in a moment of crisis. Mr. President, on Jan. 6, you told your supporters to march to the Capitol. You said you would be right there with them. The country and the world saw what played out at the Capitol that day, the officers coming under attack. Aides in the West Wing say you watched it unfold on television off the Oval Office. You did send out tweets, but it was more than two hours before you sent out that video message telling your supporters to go home. Is there anything you regret about what you did on that day? &hellip; Yes or no?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Imagine refusing to ask the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/you-have-a-rendezvous-with-destiny-mr-vice-president-on-january-6th-vice-president-pence-will-choose-the-direction-of-the-world-for-years-to-come-like-thomas-je\/\" title=\"\u201cYou Have a Rendezvous with Destiny, Mr. Vice President\u201d \u2013 On January 6th Vice President Pence Will Choose the Direction of the World for Years to Come \u2013 Like Thomas Jefferson Did Centuries Ago\">current vice president<\/a> whether she regrets any of her hateful anti-Trump rhetoric and the Biden administration&rsquo;s weaponization of the federal government against Trump that may have inspired an armed nutbag to fire at his head, but asking the former president whether he regrets &ldquo;anything about what [he] did on&rdquo; Jan. 6, 2021, even after he explicitly told his supporters to protest &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/02\/10\/966396848\/read-trumps-jan-6-speech-a-key-part-of-impeachment-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">peacefully and patriotically<\/a>.&rdquo; (Which David Muir lied about, by the way.) You don&rsquo;t hate the media enough.<\/p>\n<p>As Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-says-he-probably-took-bullet-head-due-dem-rhetoric\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> at the debate, he &ldquo;probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me. They talk about democracy. I&rsquo;m a threat to democracy. They&rsquo;re the threat to democracy.&rdquo; Correct. And the moment Trump brought up that uncomfy assassination topic, Muir pivoted because, you know, the moderators &ldquo;ha[d] a lot to get to.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Oh, they did get to lots of other things, important stuff too &mdash; like &ldquo;reproductive rights,&rdquo; &ldquo;race and politics,&rdquo; &ldquo;Do you want Ukraine to win this war?&rdquo; and fake &ldquo;fact-checks&rdquo; for <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/redsteeze\/status\/1833676946896511200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trump&rsquo;s valid claims<\/a> but <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kyleezempel\/status\/1833681443286909232\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nothing for Kamala&rsquo;s whoppers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As we rapidly approach Election Day &mdash; and with &ldquo;election season,&rdquo; early voting, and mail-in ballots practically already upon us &mdash; it&rsquo;s pivotal to recognize the corporate media for what they are. If the debate did nothing else, it reminded us of their true colors. They aren&rsquo;t biased. They don&rsquo;t have a slant. ABC News and CNN and NBC and all the rest of the establishment media don&rsquo;t &ldquo;lean left.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>They are propagandists. They live and die for the regime. They are wholly and completely corrupt, a hostile force that exists to accrue power for Democrats.&nbsp;In short, they are the enemy. <\/p>\n<p>In information warfare, it&rsquo;s tough to beat an enemy, no matter how good your ground game is, if you don&rsquo;t control the air. That&rsquo;s why it&rsquo;s so important to support real journalism like The Federalist, so our little cavalry can maximize our firepower against Democrat propagandists in their war of attrition. It&rsquo;s time to send in the reinforcements and stop waiting for the left to friendly-fire. They won&rsquo;t.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, there&rsquo;s an election to be won. However, the extent of corruption remains astonishing. This time, it was evident in how Kamala&#8217;s associates at ABC failed to mention the recent attempted murder of their political opponent that occurred just two months ago. You would never guess that the former president\u2014and likely future candidate\u2014was shot in the head 59 days prior by a deranged gunman who managed to access a rooftop near Trump&#8217;s speaking event despite being spotted by onlookers. The building was suspiciously excluded from security measures even though it had been flagged as a potential threat, and snipers were reportedly instructed not to secure its roof due to its slight slope.<\/p>\n<p>The inflammatory rhetoric from Democrats labeling Trump as &#8220;Hitler&#8221; may have played a role in this incident. Instead of addressing these serious issues, Muir and Davis chose to focus on questions about a three-and-a-half-year-old (mostly peaceful) protest because that&#8217;s what Kamala Harris preferred discussing. Why would moderators delve into Democrats&#8217; incitement of an attempted assassin when they could continue perpetuating the narrative that Trump incited violence during January 6th? Muir posed an absurd question regarding Trump&#8217;s actions on January 6th: <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to discuss the peaceful transfer of power\u2014a fundamental aspect of our democracy\u2014and what role a president plays during crises. Mr. President, you told your supporters to march on the Capitol and claimed you would join them there. The nation witnessed what transpired at the Capitol with officers under attack while aides say you watched it unfold live from your office. Although you tweeted during this time, it took over two hours for you to release a video urging your supporters to go home. Do you regret anything about your actions that day? Yes or no?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Imagine not asking Vice President Harris if she regrets her hostile anti-Trump comments or how Biden&#8217;s administration has weaponized federal agencies against Trump\u2014actions which might have motivated an armed individual to shoot at him\u2014but instead questioning Trump about his conduct on January 6th when he explicitly urged his supporters to protest &#8220;peacefully and patriotically.&#8221; (By the way, Muir misrepresented this.) If you&#8217;re not frustrated with mainstream media yet, perhaps it&#8217;s time for some reflection.<\/p>\n<p>As Trump pointed out during the debate: he \u201cprobably took a bullet\u201d due in part to their rhetoric against him; they claim he&#8217;s dangerous for democracy while they themselves pose real threats against it.
