That content was actually anti-Trump. It was trying to get people to vote against Trump. The Canadian-born Chen and her husband co-founded Tenet Media, which Semafor described as a previously little-known media company that paid substantial amounts to right-wing influencers for content that aligned with Russian propaganda and other conservative narratives.<\/p>\n<p>Although the DOJ&#8217;s indictment does not mention Tenet by name, it describes a Tennessee-based company that fits Tenet\u2019s profile perfectly. The Washington Post noted that a quote from Tenet\u2019s YouTube channel in the indictment refers to it as \u201ca network of heterodox commentators focusing on Western political and cultural issues,\u201d indicating it is likely referring to Tenet Media.<\/p>\n<p>In an unexpected twist, both AP and The Post suggested that the $10 million provided by these Russians was meant to support Trump while promoting Russian viewpoints. However, what has Chen been saying about Trump? On August 27th, she criticized him for being lenient on crime and immigration while also accusing him of pandering to Zionists and planning to include Democrats in his cabinet: \u201cThere are MANY issues people are complaining about.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>On July 23rd, she claimed he was too supportive of Israel and criticized those who planned to vote for him based on this stance: \u201cIt\u2019s not even dual loyalty&#8230; it\u2019s singular loyalty and it ain\u2019t to America.\u201d On August 26th, she declared she was &#8220;done&#8221; with Trump due to his position on abortion.<\/p>\n<p>None of these statements seem aimed at helping him secure another term as president. Social media influencer Ashley St. Clair pointed out that Chen has urged Republicans not to vote for Trump because he isn\u2019t conservative or pro-life enough; she&#8217;s also made controversial comments regarding women&#8217;s voting rights.<\/p>\n<p>A DOJ indictment suggests Lauren Chen may be an alleged Russian agent who accepted over $10 million from them through Tenet Media while pushing divisive rhetoric in U.S politics.
