ABC is out here peddling some wildly out-of-context &ldquo;good news&rdquo; about Harris.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>To wit, on Monday, ABC News posted a curious article &mdash; again, just 24 hours before the debate &mdash; touting Harris&rsquo; rising popularity among &ldquo;likely voters.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>After calling the polling between Harris and Trump &ldquo;virtually identical,&rdquo; the <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/harris-support-rises-voters-poll\/story?id=113465657\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> boastfully claims that &ldquo;closer assessment shows movement to Harris in some groups when comparing all adults with likely voters &mdash; notably, those younger than 40, younger women in particular and black people.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Oh, boy. Here we go.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This analysis, produced for ABC News by Langer Research Associates, finds that support for Harris goes from 54 percent of all adults younger than 40 to 64 percent of those identified as likely voters,&rdquo; ABC claimed. &ldquo;Trump&rsquo;s support, meanwhile, drops from 42 percent of adults in this age group to 33 percent of those likely to vote.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>To save you the trouble of the ABC News &ldquo;poll,&rdquo; just know that the entire Monday article stunk &mdash; and it&rsquo;s easy to see why.<\/p>\n<p>Curiously absent from Monday&rsquo;s article, ABC failed to mention anything important about polling, like sample size, margin of error and dates.<\/p>\n<p>No, that methodology was buried in a completely <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/kamala-harris-running-presidential-campaign-donald-trump-poll\/story?id=113246534\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">separate article<\/a> from Sept. 1 that effectively made assertions identical to the Monday article.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, ABC News was called out for this duplicity on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Washington Examiner correspondent Byron York astutely pointed out that while these numbers may have been valid at one point (the original polling took place from Aug. 23 to Aug. 27), this truncated election season means that any information from late August is going to be woefully outdated by the time the second week of September rolls around.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Posted this morning, this appears to be based on an ABC poll conducted August 23-27. This poll was conducted last month. And new polls &ndash; even left-leaning ones &ndash; now show Trump back in the lead.<\/p>\n<p>Weird how that&rsquo;s not mentioned at all in your report. Almost like you&rsquo;re trying to set up a particular narrative heading into your own debate.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of setting up particular narratives, this brings us to the other major issue with ABC News&rsquo; shameless shilling.<\/p>\n<p>Had this one poll and the inexplicable decision to re-post it on Monday been the only incident leading to Tuesday&rsquo;s debate, it would probably be much ado about nothing. ABC News will host the much-publicized debate between Harris and Trump on Tuesday, and coincidentally, they are also disseminating some highly misleading &#8220;good news&#8221; about Harris.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, just 24 hours before the debate, ABC News published a questionable article highlighting Harris&#8217; increasing popularity among &#8220;likely voters.&#8221; The article described polling results between Harris and Trump as &#8220;virtually identical,&#8221; yet claimed that a closer look reveals a shift towards Harris among certain demographics\u2014particularly younger individuals under 40, young women specifically, and Black voters.<\/p>\n<p>ABC asserted that support for Harris rises from 54% among all adults under 40 to 64% among those identified as likely voters. Reporter Rusty Weiss expressed disbelief at how this information was being presented as current or significant newsworthy content.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss remarked on X: \u201cThis poll was conducted last month&#8230; New polls\u2014even those leaning left\u2014now show Trump back in the lead.\u201d He suggested it seemed like there was an attempt to create a specific narrative leading into their own debate.<\/p>\n<p>If this single instance had been isolated before Tuesday\u2019s debate, it might have seemed like mere partisan cheerleading; however, there have been multiple incidents raising questions about ABC&#8217;s biases against Trump. Reports indicated that ABC had allegedly assured Harris\u2019 team certain rules would be adjusted favorably for her during the debates\u2014a claim denied by the network but still credible enough to raise eyebrows.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally troubling was when Linsey Davis\u2014a moderator for the upcoming debates\u2014casually associated Trump with the Ku Klux Klan during discussions.
