Calley Means, along with his sister, who also attended Stanford, has conducted dozens of meetings with members on both sides of the aisle in the House and the Senate as the new health movement takes shape. The duo have met with “at least 50” members in the upper and lower chambers and will meet with over 100 lawmakers before the end of the year.

Calley Means said he’s observing increasingly widespread support on Capitol Hill for ending the “corporate capture” of key federal health agencies that Kennedy allies believe are responsible for making children “the unhealthiest, sickest children in the world.”

Due to increased congressional interest in health reforms, which Trump vowed to press forward, Calley Means told the Washington Examiner that a congressional hearing on chronic disease is in the works for September.

Calley Means said many of the congressional members he’s in talks with feel as if “they’ve been lied to by the medical industry–they’re shocked by the rates of chronic disease that are going up and how we’re spending more and more money on healthcare and getting sicker and sicker.”

“I think bipartisan members of Congress and Senate I talked to feel misled and let down by the system and are looking for answers,” he continued.

While Democratic lawmakers are unlikely to publicly support bipartisan health reforms ahead of the election, Sens. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Rand Paul (R-KY) have supported some of Kennedy’s dreams in the upper chamber. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), a key GOP voice in the lower chamber, told the Washington Examiner last week that working with Kennedy on health policy will be one of his top priorities going into the next Congress.

Back in 2017, Trump appeared to backtrack on plans to have Kennedy lead a commission on vaccine safety. This time around, his allies appear more confident that the political tides have turned in favor of a lasting partnership between the two men.

The 2017 fallout predated the COVID-19 pandemic, which shook many people’s faith in healthcare leaders. It also came before Kennedy launched a sixteen-month campaign explaining to voters why he believes powerful federal agencies such as the National Institute of Health and the Federal Drug Administration have sold out to big corporations and pharmaceutical companies, which wrecked the country.

At the height of his presidential campaign, Kennedy garnered roughly 15% of support from the U.S. electorate, gaining unusually high traction for a third-party candidate and indicating that his message resonated with a significant chunk of voters disillusioned with the status quo.

At times, Kennedy’s distrust of the healthcare establishment sounded similar to Trump’s MAGA movement, which was fueled in part by suspicion of institutions he and his base felt had gone awry.

During a Fox News interview on Aug. 24, Calley Means noted that “this populist frustration with our institutions” is “what’s been propelling RFK, what’s been propelling Trump.”

Thank you @RCamposDuffy + @calleymeans: Let’s Make America Healthy Again. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/QYWB58DeN7

— Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his supporters are working to realize their vision of “Make America Healthy Again” in 2024, contingent on former President Donald Trump securing a second term in office. Throughout his sixteen-month campaign, first as a Democratic presidential candidate and later as an Independent, Kennedy’s warnings about the chronic disease “epidemic” resonated with many disillusioned voters. His concerns gained particular traction with Trump after Kennedy suspended his campaign last month to endorse him.

In August, Kennedy stated that Trump expressed a desire for this initiative to be part of his legacy, believing he had found an ally in the former president who could help him achieve his goals of improving health outcomes for children and addressing the chronic disease crisis in America. During an Arizona rally where he endorsed Trump, he introduced the slogan “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) into Trump’s existing campaign framework.

With Trump’s potential support as president in 2024 being significant, expanding advocacy within Congress could further bolster the MAHA movement’s impact. Calley Means, a healthcare professional educated at Stanford University and Harvard Business School who played a key role in fostering cooperation between Kennedy and Trump, is actively pursuing this goal. In a recent interview with the Washington Examiner, Means outlined strategies for implementing the MAHA agenda.

Means has collaborated closely with his sister Casey Means to lobby influential political figures for essential health reforms; they co-authored the bestseller *Good Energy* earlier this year. He has been instrumental in advising both camps on health policy matters and serves as a crucial link between them.

Kennedy emphasized on social media that he aims to collaborate with both Trump and Means to tackle America’s mental health crisis under the MAHA banner.

Lobbying Congress is vital for laying down plans related to MAHA’s objectives. The Means siblings have engaged numerous lawmakers from both parties while shaping this new health movement; they have met over fifty members of Congress so far and plan additional meetings before year-end.

Calley Means noted growing bipartisan support among lawmakers seeking solutions against what they perceive as corporate influence over federal health agencies—an issue that aligns with Kennedy’s assertion that these entities contribute significantly to rising rates of childhood illness due to their ties with pharmaceutical companies.

As interest grows among congressional members regarding healthcare reform—an area where Trump has pledged action—a hearing focused on chronic diseases is anticipated next month according to Calley Means’ discussions within Capitol Hill circles.

While Democratic leaders may hesitate publicly supporting bipartisan reforms ahead of elections, some Republican senators like Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Rand Paul (R-KY) have shown openness towards aspects of Kennedy’s proposals; Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) also indicated collaboration on health policy would be among his priorities moving forward into Congress next session.

The dynamics surrounding Trump’s previous hesitance regarding appointing Kennedy head of vaccine safety initiatives seem different now post-COVID-19 pandemic—a period which heightened public skepticism towards healthcare authorities—and following Kennedy’s extensive campaigning highlighting perceived failings by major federal agencies like NIH or FDA due largely influenced by corporate interests affecting public welfare negatively.

Kennedy garnered around 15% support during his presidential run—unusually high for third-party candidates—which suggests substantial resonance among voters dissatisfied with traditional political narratives.

Calley Means remarked how shared frustrations toward institutional failures drive both RFK Jr.’s message alongside Trump’s MAGA ethos.

Leaders advocating MAHA caution against conflicts arising from government agencies receiving funds from pharmaceutical firms tied directly into drug approvals leading them astray from their core mission: safeguarding public well-being.

Kennedy claimed sick children benefit pharmaceutical companies financially since ongoing treatments create lifelong customers reliant upon medications rather than preventive care measures aimed at promoting overall wellness instead.

Means envisions enhancing Health Savings Accounts allowing individuals greater control over personal healthcare decisions while eliminating corruption influencing nutritional guidelines set forth federally through advisory committees tasked originally meant solely serve citizens’ best interests without ulterior motives involved whatsoever.

As speculation arises about possible roles within future administrations should Trump win again—including potential positions such Secretary Health Human Services—Calley means downplayed such rumors emphasizing broader discussions centered around tackling systemic issues plaguing childhood chronic illnesses rather than mere political maneuvering alone driving these conversations forward collectively together toward meaningful change ahead!

[538
40359,40358,32458,3634,32076
post-2338169","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-washington-examiner","tag-chronic-disease","tag-maha","tag-rfk-jr","tag-trump","tag-washington-examiner
["GET
