in violation of U.S. money laundering and criminal trademark laws.&rdquo; According to <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.md\/nMCTk#selection-1943.55-1943.218\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News<\/a>, the unsealed indictment alleged a pair of Russian state media staffers had been covertly funding a Tennessee-based, American content creation company identified in reports as Tenet Media&rdquo; and other shell companies with the goal of spreading what the DOJ classified as &ldquo;Russian government propaganda.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-aa88d0f8dedbce239b9c79769d08f1a6 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-aa88d0f8dedbce239b9c79769d08f1a6\"><\/div>\n<p>The indictment contended that Tenet Media &ldquo;published nearly 2,000 videos to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-new-acting-attorney-general-jeff-rosen-recently-wrote-an-essay-on-foreign-influence-in-us-elections-this-tells-us-a-little-about-his-knowledge-of-whats-going-on-today\/\" title=\"The New Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen Recently Wrote an Essay on Foreign Influence in US Elections \u2013 This Tells Us A Little About His Knowledge of What\u2019s Going On Today\">social media platforms<\/a> such as X and YouTube, and failed to inform viewers it was financed by the Kremlin,&rdquo; the report reads.<\/p>\n<p>Right-wing influencers such as Dave Rubin, Tim Pool, and Benny Johnson are among those affiliated with the company. Many of these figures have since <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.md\/nMCTk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied knowledge<\/a> of the company&rsquo;s alleged ties to Russia and proclaimed to be &ldquo;victims&rdquo; of Moscow&rsquo;s purported influence operation.<\/p>\n<p>While litigation on the matter remains ongoing, YouTube seemingly viewed the existence of the DOJ&rsquo;s allegations and presser as providing sufficient justification for unilaterally taking down Tenet Media&rsquo;s channel. The Google-owned company also removed the channel of Tenet Media founder Lauren Chen and other affiliated accounts, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/siladityaray\/2024\/09\/06\/youtube-takes-down-alleged-russia-funded-outlet-which-hosted-videos-from-right-wing-pundits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Users who click on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCdmJ9EcVd6wuFU_DHklYZFw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link<\/a> to Tenet Media&rsquo;s YouTube channel are greeted with a blank screen and caption that reads, &ldquo;This channel was removed because it violated our Community Guidelines.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5965244f82b57717bfaa5a4d08505aeb fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5965244f82b57717bfaa5a4d08505aeb\"><\/div>\n<p>In a statement to Forbes, a YouTube representative said the Big Tech company axed the channels &ldquo;as part of [its] ongoing efforts to combat coordinated influence operations&rdquo; and that it was done after &ldquo;careful review.&rdquo; The Google-owned video service reportedly claimed it is continuing its investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of what revelations are ultimately confirmed regarding Tenet&rsquo;s alleged ties to Russia, YouTube has never needed a valid reason to censor content produced by non-leftists. <\/p>\n<p>This was especially apparent during the Covid outbreak. The company <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/09\/29\/youtube-purges-accounts-videos-casting-any-doubt-on-covid-vaccines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> in fall 2021 that videos of individuals questioning the government&rsquo;s stance on the Covid shots would be removed from the web service.
