Notably, on August 23, ⁣Nate ⁣Silver, ‌a prominent pollster, indicated that Trump had a 46.1% chance⁢ of winning compared to Kamala ⁤Harris’s ‍53.5%. However, this dynamic shifted dramatically‌ when independent candidate Robert ⁤F.‌ Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign ⁢and formed an alliance with ⁤Trump. This‍ coalition seemingly energized Trump’s supporters⁤ and led to a favorable shift in polling data.

As of early⁤ September, Silver updated Trump’s⁤ probability of winning‍ to 61.5%, with Harris dropped to⁤ 38.3%. In contrast, Silver noted Harris’s underperformance relative to ⁣her national poll standings.

The article emphasizes that while polling can often misrepresent true voter sentiments, ⁣Trump’s ‍support has historically been underestimated. Moving forward, the narrative around⁢ Trump’s campaign is ‍bolstered⁤ by⁢ recent developments and ⁢alliances, particularly with Kennedy, which could potentially ⁢influence the upcoming election significantly.

If you have sensed growing momentum for former President Donald Trump in the last two weeks, you’re in good company.

On Friday, prominent establishment pollster Nate Silver — who founded ABC’s FiveThirtyEight — released a new set of projections based on what he called “more mediocre swing <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/last-watergate-baby-sen-leahy-81-likely-seeking-9th-term/" title="Last 'Watergate Baby' Sen. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign and forged an alliance with Trump.

In fact, Kennedy and Trump appeared together that evening at an electrifying rally in Arizona.

Since then, the polling data has steadily trended in Trump’s direction.

Thus, as of Friday, Silver gave Trump a 61.5 percent chance of winning the election compared to Harris’s 38.3 percent.

Data from seven swing states helps account for Trump’s projected advantage.

For instance, Silver placed Trump’s odds of victory in Arizona and North Carolina at 75 and 74 percent, respectively. That would flip Arizona and its 11 electoral votes to Trump based on the 2020 election’s certified results.

The big news, however, involved two other states that President Joe Biden carried in 2020, according to certified results.

Silver gave Trump a 67 percent chance of victory in Georgia and a 62 percent chance in Pennsylvania.

Assuming other 2020 results hold, those two states, along with Arizona, would return the former president to the White House.

Furthermore, to illustrate Trump’s strength across all swing states, Silver also made the former president the favorite in Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan.

#Latest @NateSilver538 forecast (chance of winning)

August 23
🟦 Harris: 53.5%
🟥 Trump: 46.1%

September 6
🟥 Trump: 61.5%
🟦 Harris: 38.3%
——
Swing States: chance of winning

Pennsylvania – 🔴 Trump 62-38%
Michigan – 🔴 Trump 52-48%
Wisconsin – 🔴 Trump 52-48%
Arizona – 🔴… pic.twitter.com/2JqxjoAr5O

— InteractivePolls (@IAPolls2022) September 6, 2024

Meanwhile, Silver himself posted a chart showing an aggregate of polls in Pennsylvania.

That aggregate, featuring “mediocre swing state polls for Harris” of late, showed the vice president with a narrow lead, though that obviously did not stop Silver from giving Trump a 62 percent chance of winning the state.

Today’s numbers.

More mediocre swing state polls for Harris, and her lead in national polls is down a tick, too, to 3.0 points.

Note that these polling averages aren’t affected by convention bounce stuff.

More coming soon.https://t.co/vsGVG18HHI pic.twitter.com/RAr5mI22uH

— Nate Silver (@NateSilver538) September 6, 2024

In Friday’s “Silver Bulletin,” the pollster characterized Harris as “underperforming in swing states relative to her national numbers.”

He went on to describe that underperformance as “a theme lately, especially in Pennsylvania.”

So what to make of all this pro-Trump optimism?

In recent years, of course, pollsters have not exactly covered themselves in glory.

To illustrate that point, I like to remind readers that in 2020 the final RealClearPolling average showed Trump with a narrow one-point lead over Biden in the expected swing state of Ohio. Trump won the state by 8.2 percentage points.

Similar exaggerations of Biden’s support occurred elsewhere, including Wisconsin and Iowa.

The point is not that state polls are always wrong, but that when they are wrong, they nearly always underestimate Trump’s support.

That, of course, raises questions not only about pollsters’ methods but about their intentions. If you think establishment pollsters would not manipulate their data so as to push a narrative that benefits the establishment candidate, then you do not know the establishment very well.

Thus, the fact that Silver has already made Trump a strong favorite means that the former president almost certainly has a much larger lead than any of the more pro-Harris polling averages suggest.

Either way, for all his juggernaut-ish qualities as a political figure, Trump may very well owe a particular thanks to Kennedy for this recent surge.

* Name

*

* Message

* All fields are required.

Success!

function firefly_sc() { if( typeof window.captchaPublicKey==typeof undefined ){ console.error('window.captchaPublicKey is not defined'); } grecaptcha.execute( window.captchaPublicKey, { action: 'submit_correction' } ).then( function( token ) { var opts={ action: 'firefly_sc_submit', name: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="name"]' ).value, : document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name=""]' ).value, message: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="message"]' ).value, post_id: firefly_post_id, cap_token: token } var inputs=[ 'name', '', 'message' ]; for( var i=0; i <inputs.length; i++ ) if( ! On Friday, well-known pollster Nate Silver, founder of ABC’s FiveThirtyEight, shared new projections that he described as stemming from “more mediocre swing state polls” concerning Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. In summary, Trump’s chances of winning the 2024 election have risen to their highest level since Harris began her campaign.

According to polling aggregator InteractivePolls on X (formerly Twitter), a significant shift toward Trump occurred on August 23. At that time, Silver estimated Harris had a 53.5% chance of winning compared to Trump’s 46.1%. However, on that same day, Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign and allied with Trump; they even appeared together at a rally in Arizona later that evening.

Since then, polling data has consistently favored Trump. As of Friday’s update from Silver, he assigned Trump a 61.5% chance of victory against Harris’s 38.3%. Data from seven key swing states supports this projected advantage: Silver assessed Trump’s odds at 75% in Arizona and 74% in North Carolina—both states would flip to Trump based on the certified results from the previous election.

Notably, Silver also indicated strong chances for Trump in Georgia (67%) and Pennsylvania (62%), both states won by President Joe Biden in 2020 according to certified results; if these trends hold along with Arizona’s outcome, they could lead to Trump’s return to the White House.

Additionally, Silver identified Trump as the frontrunner in Nevada, Wisconsin, and Michigan among all swing states analyzed.

In his latest forecast dated August 23rd:
– Harris: 53.5%
– Trump: 46.1%

By September 6th:
– Trump: 61.5%
– Harris: 38.3%

Swing State probabilities included:
– Pennsylvania – Trump: **62** – **38**
– Michigan –Trump: **52** – **48**
– Wisconsin –Trump: **52** – **48**

Meanwhile, despite showing a narrow lead for Harris based on recent “mediocre” polls aggregated for Pennsylvania—Silver still gave him a solid chance there too at around **62%**.

In his “Silver Bulletin” released Friday morning , he noted that while national polls show some decline for Harris’s lead down by about three points recently—her performance is notably weaker within critical swing states like Pennsylvania—a trend observed lately.

However one must consider past inaccuracies among pollsters; during the last election cycle RealClearPolitics showed an overly optimistic view towards Biden’s support which ultimately underestimated Trump’s actual backing across various battlegrounds including Ohio where he won by over eight points despite being shown narrowly behind prior.

This raises questions about polling methodologies and potential biases within establishment circles aiming narratives favoring certain candidates; thus it seems likely that current figures may understate Trump’s true standing given how often historical data suggests underestimations occur when it comes down specifically towards him.

Ultimately though regardless of any external factors influencing these numbers—it appears Kennedy’s recent alliance has played an instrumental role contributing significantly towards boosting momentum surrounding former president Donald trump leading into upcoming elections ahead!

[40337,32438,15698,3634
post-2338063","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tag-election-model","tag-kamala-harris","tag-polling","tag-trump
["GET
