This scrutiny arose after numerous claims of voters registered at commercial properties like ⁤bars, strip clubs, and gas stations,‍ which raised concerns about the integrity of voter rolls, particularly in a⁣ state with known issues of inflated voter registration figures. PILF has ⁣documented “hundreds of questionable addresses” and has evidence showing that many individuals ⁤listed do not actually reside at ⁤these locations. After a lawsuit was filed to compel action, Portillo’s office decided to conduct an investigation into these ⁤addresses, likely to avoid embarrassment in court by defending such practices. The case was ultimately dismissed⁣ after verification and corrections were‌ made on the voter rolls. This situation⁢ has highlighted significant ongoing concerns about election integrity in Nevada.

The top election official for swing state Nevada’s most populous county relented and finally decided to look into “bad addresses” on the state’s voter rolls. According to Bis, the Clark petition drew the attention of bogus Russian dossier peddler and Democrat Party problem fixer Marc Elias. “As we filed the lawsuit, Mark Elias filed the motion to intervene,” she told me.

Bis also told me that Secretary of State Francisco “Cisco” Aguilar then came calling. Nope. He planned to defend the county registrar’s recalcitrance, Bis said.

But a funny thing happened leading up to the court hearing, scheduled for last week. Portillo apparently agreed to PILF’s demands to investigate the well-documented bad addresses on Clark County’s voter rolls and “informed the Petitioners that her office did conduct an investigation of the 90 addresses and made determinations,” according to the stipulation order that followed.

Why the sudden change of heart?

“I think part of them didn’t want to go up against us in court, where we would show photos of the strip clubs and bars where these individuals said they resided,” Bis told me in an interview. “It was bad optics all around and really indefensible, and I think they did not want to be in a court of law defending the status quo.”

“We asked them to do the bare minimum, which was to investigate these, and they looked ridiculous,” Bis added.

PILF dismissed the case after learning that Portillo ultimately had her office investigate the suspect names on the rolls and make corrections and fix errors where needed, Bis said.

Stephanie Wheatley, spokeswoman for Clark County, said in an email response that the county is unable to comment on litigation.

PILF can.

“Because of PILF’s lawsuit, Clark County was forced to investigate crazy addresses listed as residences on the voter roll including strip clubs, casinos, and gas stations,” said J. Despite alarming reports of voters claiming to live at strip clubs, bars, and casinos that should have prompted immediate action from Clark County Registrar of Voters Lorena Portillo, it seems that only the possibility of a court order got her attention.

As reported by The Federalist, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), an organization focused on election integrity, has been examining questionable addresses in Nevada since before the 2020 election. They found numerous individuals listed in the voter registration database as residing at commercial locations such as vacant lots, fast food restaurants, gas stations, tattoo parlors, and funeral homes. PILF investigators have even recorded business owners confirming that these individuals do not actually live at these addresses.

In one instance captured on video by PILF’s Lauren Bis while speaking with a bartender in Las Vegas about two individuals supposedly living there—Ronald or William Phelps—the bartender laughed off the idea that someone would use a bar as their residence.

While this situation may seem absurd, it raises serious concerns about election integrity in a state already criticized for having “impossibly high” voter registration figures and allowing ballots to be counted long after Election Day.

PILF had previously sent Portillo evidence regarding these dubious addresses but received no response until they filed a lawsuit in Nevada’s 8th Judicial District Court demanding she fulfill her duties. This legal action caught the attention of Marc Elias—a Democratic Party operative known for his involvement with controversial political matters—who sought to intervene in the case alongside Secretary of State Francisco “Cisco” Aguilar.

Despite Aguilar being affiliated with the Democratic Party and expected to support clean voter rolls efforts instead chose to defend Portillo’s reluctance to act. However, just before their court hearing last week took place, Portillo agreed to investigate these problematic addresses after all and informed PILF that her office had looked into 90 specific cases.

What prompted this change? According to Bis’ insights during an interview: “I think part of them didn’t want to go up against us in court,” where they would have had difficulty defending their position given evidence like photos from strip clubs and bars associated with registered voters’ claims.

Ultimately satisfied with Portillo’s decision to address these issues within her office rather than continue litigation against them; PILF dropped its lawsuit. A spokesperson for Clark County stated they could not comment on ongoing litigation but acknowledged through J. Christian Adams from PILF that their lawsuit compelled Clark County officials into investigating inappropriate residential listings which could have led mail ballots being sent incorrectly if left unchecked.

PILF is now pursuing similar investigations in Washoe County—the second most populous county home to Reno—as well amidst complications arising from Nevada’s shift towards all-mail ballot elections initiated in 2022 where every active registered voter automatically receives a ballot without needing prior request unless opting out by deadline approaching soon when ballots will start being distributed later this month.

The significant role played by deep blue counties like Clark and Washoe was evident during Joe Biden’s victory over Donald Trump by approximately 30k votes during 2020 elections; thus making upcoming rematch closely monitored especially concerning mail-in voting system causing considerable chaos according Bis who advocates ending automatic vote-by-mail practices altogether

[546
40166,32644,40165,32645
post-2337094","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-federalist","tag-dirty-voter-rolls","tag-election-integrity","tag-nv-county-official","tag-voter-fraud
["GET
