And so I guess the question is, &lsquo;Is the Supreme Court any different?&rsquo; And I guess I have not seen a persuasive reason as to why the court is different from the other courts,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Pressed by host Norah O&rsquo;Donnell on whether she would support an &ldquo;enforcement mechanism&rdquo; for the ethics code, Jackson said she is &ldquo;considering supporting it as a general matter,&rdquo; but would not get into specific ideas she may have for it.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not going to get into commenting on particular policy proposals. But, from my perspective, I don&rsquo;t have any problem with an enforceable code,&rdquo; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-senate-judiciary-committee-confirms-amy-coney-barrett-for-supreme-court-democrats-boycott-committee-vote\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Senate Judiciary Committee Confirms Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court -- Democrats Boycott Committee Vote\">justice<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>The comments come a little more than a month after fellow left-leaning Justice Elena Kagan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3100547\/kagan-says-supreme-court-needs-mechanism-enforce-ethics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> at a California conference she supports creating a new &ldquo;mechanism&rdquo; to enforce the ethics code that the Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2440994\/supreme-court-will-adopt-an-ethics-code\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"adopted\">adopted<\/a> in November of last year. Kagan said this could include &ldquo;some sort of committee of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kagan-says-supreme-court-needs-mechanism-to-enforce-ethics-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Kagan says Supreme Court needs \u2018mechanism\u2019 to enforce ethics - Washington Examiner\">highly respected judges<\/a> with a great deal of experience and a reputation for fairness,&rdquo; who would then be in charge of enforcing the code.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before being adopted in November 2023, an ethics code was something Supreme Court justices considered for years. Pressure to adopt one was heightened after <em>ProPublica<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2578494\/group-targeting-conservative-supreme-court-justices-propped-up-by-left-wing-megadonors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"reported\">reported<\/a> on purported ethics conflicts involving Republican-appointed Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.
