Does your love for it run so deep you would like to be surrounded by it all the time when you come home?<\/p>\n<p>If so, Disney&rsquo;s big community development project in Rancho Mirage, California might be for you, but it&rsquo;s certainly not for everyone.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2024-08-28\/disneys-new-mega-neighborhood-is-taking-shape-in-the-california-desert-locals-are-dubious\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Los Angeles Times<\/a> said of the plans, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a massive undertaking, with 1,932 planned homes spread across more than 600 acres.&rdquo; While that is definitely bold, some of the locals feel &ldquo;dubious&rdquo; about the project, dubbed &ldquo;Cotino.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Mark Wolpa told the Times, &ldquo;Cotino&rsquo;s bringing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/letitia-james-files-bonkers-lawsuit-pepsico-plastic-pollution-littering-consumers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pollution<\/a>, commotion and chaos to an area that didn&rsquo;t want it,&rdquo; saying the area was quiet before construction crews moved in.<\/p>\n<p>While that&rsquo;s obviously a temporary problem during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pete-buttigieg-grilled-on-cnn-of-all-places\/\" title=\"Pete Buttigieg Grilled on CNN of All Places\">construction phase<\/a>, Wolpa expressed concerns about Cotino Bay &ndash; the lagoon &ndash; and the amount of water it will use.<\/p>\n<p>  <script> \t\t\t\tif( ! getCookie( 'ff_subbed' ) ) if( typeof FFADS.replace_ict !='undefined' ) if( FFADS.replace_ict ) eval( FFADS.replace_ict ); \t\t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>As information about the project came to light in 2022, the area was in the midst of a dry spell.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We had tight restrictions on water usage at the time. Everyone was ripping out their yard and replacing it with artificial grass. And meanwhile, I started seeing signs for a massive lagoon.&rdquo; While those restrictions are no longer in place, Wolpa said he felt the lagoon&rsquo;s inclusion in the area was &ldquo;wasteful.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Bill Miller lives in nearby Palm Springs and was more interested in how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/state-wildlife-office-issues-dire-warning-nine-dead-beavers-found-across-multiple-counties-dont-approach-carcasses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wildlife<\/a> would be impacted by Disney&rsquo;s development.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Critters are being pushed out.
